Can’t have too many young (and younger than Monty) promising goalies that would peak in 2-3 years once the rebuild is pretty much over. I’m 100% on the Hart train, and I wouldn’t mind giving away LD or forward prospects and some picks

Monty’s ceiling may be as a 1B/2A. Hart projects as a 1A simply based on experience and talent. I’d be happy with Hart 1A and Monty 1B and ride whoever gets hot by the time we contend.

I wouldn’t trade much for a goaltender. Just ride with Monty imo.

  4. Really depends on the price.

One of our D-prospects and a late round pick? Sure.

If they want a D-prospect (I’m assuming that would be Philly’s first ask, seeing how shallow they are there) and Florida’s first, I’m telling them to fuck off.

Trade for Hart and make Price coach him a bit and see what happens.

I woukd love to see a trade including Hart but i have a hard time seing it happening..

We have : Monty, Allen (3.9M) and Primeau here and all are waiver elegible.

Philly has : Cal Pertersen newly acquired has a hefty cap dump ( 5M ) + Carter Hart ( 3.9M ) + Sandstrom ( 775K ) and i reccon they are all waiver elegible as well.

If a trade would happen, wich MTL goalie would be included in the trade?

Allen to secure some experience? His cap hit is similar to Hart and he only have a 7 team NMC so probably Philly is OK.

Primeau to wish for a miracle with a young guy while they are on a rebuild?

Hart could make sense if it looks like Primeau or Montembault won’t be a fit ultimately in our goalie tandem.

As long as it would be cheap to take on Hart, I don’t see why not.

Price looked like trash too in his early years, and look what he became when he hit his prime (until the injury fucked it all up). You never know until you know!

The case against Hart is that if the Habs are still tanking and he plays well, he’s gonna hurt their draft options.

Nothing against Hart, I think he’s a good goalie, but it’s not the time to do this.

Habs shouldn’t try to jumpstart their rebuild like Detroit, or arguably the Sens did. They need to take their time, and not waste assets. They probably need another bad year to add more top tier players, which they currently lack.

I don’t want the Habs to spend assets for Hart, spend assets to lose Allen and block themselves from another high pick.

Hart with the Habs might make sense one day, but not now.

Whether we get Hart or not comes down to one thing: cost.

If Philly is looking at multiple 1sts, then it’s an easy no
If Philly is willing to take a 2nd + 3rd or B prospect, then sure.

So everyone’s speculating because his favorite player was price? I’m hoping to see him in a habs jersey but was also hoping there was more to these rumors then that……
