He does have the experience in a Canadian market he is coming to a different club that has great pieces that needs a bit of this and that to take this team over the top, first priority would to sort the top 4 , I would sign Matthews to a long term deal , Nylander has the most impressive contract cap friendly to sign, I would keep Marner , sadly I hate to lose Nylander but making a good hockey trade for what the Leafs need, and they would have to retain some salary with Marner,

I think Huberdeau will bounce back after last year. I like Sutter but it's obvious that he had fans on that team but there was a lot of players who were pretty happy with him leaving, as far Treliving is concerned, you can't prejudge him before he even has a chance to make his mark on the team. I feel bad for Keefe but he had his chance, they should have sacked him last year. Dubas really did good at the deadline to toughen up his team and now we're going to lose some if not most of these new faces because of the core. A full year of Ryan O'Reilly is what they would need but they won't be able to sign him…we're back to square one. We need scrappers to make sure guys like Bennett and Gudas don't run roughshod on our team…it was an embarrassment.
Treliving is willing to take the Leafs GM job at the same $4M per season for 5 seasons offered to Dubas. Treliving is getting a raise over his former job in Calgary.
