Saving you a click Quenneville is likely not going to get reinstated before July 1 and NYR will want to hire a guy before July 1 because that’s the start of free agency. In reality Drury is just taking his time in this and isn’t in a hurry. We really don’t know who is the favorite

The Rangers will wait for the finals to be over before they announce their coach. It’s hockey etiquette. You don’t steal media attention from the Stanley Cup finals…you wait till it’s over. It’s what they do.
Considering the history between Bettman and Dolan, I have a hard time believing that even if the rangers wanted Quenneville (and I don’t think they do), Betteman would reinstate him so he could work behind the bench at the garden.
