Wow
glad they are on a multi-yr non playoff drought always hated the Wings
Red wings still suck. Avs have the cup right now, and it'll be a cold day in hell before we let it ever go back to Detroit, A.K.A. "toilet town".
Go Avs Go!!
I hope in the future the red wings needs to move back to the western conference.
Still can’t believe the pride of Detroit hockey, Moritz Seider…his agent is Claude Lemieux😭😭. Imagine those contract negotiations with Stevie Y
This looks like good content, ESPN.
Bowman crossed the line and kris “he never apologized” draper made them easy to dislike
All I’m saying is don’t be surprised if this rivalry is renewed in the Stanley Cup Final a few years down the line. Once Stevie Y does his magic in DET, its almost guranteed
When men were men and giants skated the earth. Without this fight that dipped this team in molten iron, the Wings would never have found the passion, drive and cohesion to win those 4 Stanley Cups. Every team needs a unifying force, an us or them moment, to draw out those hidden reserves of talent we don't know we have.
This documentary was so blasphemous. It was pro-Detroit and painted the Avalanche as a Villian. As an Avs fan, it was disagraceful
I grew up in Michigan in the 80’s through 90’s. I love the Detroit Redwings and I’m so happy they made this fucking documentary. I just watched it. It’s so amazingly put together. Amazing content! Best 2 hours 7 minutes and 52 seconds I’ve seen lately. Thanks ESPN+.
To this day I say. F Detroit! Dirty scumbags! 🖕🏼
Play it in Canada fucko espn is such a joke
Gotta love Bettman saying “it’s not something you wanna see it’s not what our games about” as he consistently does nothing when stuff like this happens and allows it to be what the game is about 💀💀
Where can I watch the whole thing?
All games played against eachother: Wings 59 wins Avs 52
Playoff series wins: Wings 3 Avs 3
Cups: Wings 4 Avs 3
I HATED the Avalanche then, but it was the greatest sports rivalry ever in my opinion. Now, I never watch the castrated version of it. The Avalanche had spectacular line-ups and tough guys, that you knew were going to bring it each game. Miss those days.
Why the fuck would be Betrman be in this. He has already ruined the NHL
Not to be a salty fan boy but the wings won this rivalry. Avs fans say they won because they had more playoff series wins (which they don't even have THAT anymore lol) but what would u rather have?
More series wins, or more cups? (hockeys most cherished prize) I think any REAL hockey fan knows the answer here….cups. And the wings won 3-2 in cups as well as getting the final laugh in this rivalry. Also speaking of cups, the wings actually REPEATED as cup champs which is what the avs could never do because every time they tried, they'd lose in WCF to said redwings. And let's be honest, the only reason the avs were ever able to compete with the redwings' high powered offense was because they had Roy. And they NEVER woulda had Roy if the wings didn't slaughter him in Montreal in 95. So the avs should be thanking the wings for building the avs team, as if being handed an already built franchise wasn't enough lol(Quebec Nords).
So yeah, enjoy your cup this year Colorado, but the wings won this rivalry. Not to mention the head to head record is 59-52 in favor of the Wings. This includes regular season and playoff games.
What a fucking war! Miss real hockey
No Patrick. Leaving the net was the right thing to do. Best sports rivalry in my lifetime.
Photographer acts like he also played that night hahahahaha 😂😅
Roy went through the whole fight with his catching glove on. Love the moment when he’s holding Vernon’s head like a salad when bombing it. 😅
What people have to understand is that this is was 90’s hockey. A completely different era. They played the body, not the puck. The game has changed so much today from that era.
