Stinks to lose him for that number, but, it's a loss of excess. We are lucky to have the defensive depth to be able to say so long to a guy like Damon. He was a good Devil tho, hope he does well.

  2. I’ve never been a huge Sevo’s fan . To me minus 120 through his career speaks a defender who can’t defend regardless of his offensive upside . I wish him all the best nevertheless . Good outcome for Devils and Sevo himself , not sure about Columbus though .

  3. Great trade by NJ considering we were getting nothing for him come July 1. Now Fitz needs to sign Meier or Bratt to a muli-year deal.

  4. It’s a great return for a player they couldn’t afford and weren’t going to sign. I wish he went into the other conduit beggers can’t be choosers.

  5. He's the Fifty Million Dollar Man 😮 Getting a pick of any type is better than nothing 🎉 Is Graves still going? LFGD

  6. Severson is a one man arguement against analytics. I'm not gonna miss him (pipeline looking great or not, which it does😊), and that 3rd rounder will be very helpful.

  7. I was always very lukewarm with Severson. He had his ups and downs, but it’s going to be very difficult to replace his role this offseason. He brought a lot to this team and his contributions will not be forgotten. I don’t think it’s wise to have half of your blue line being rookies. I expect Fitz to bring in a stop gap veteran dman who can kill penalties and take the burden off the young ones. That being said, I’m very happy that the Devils got a 3rd for a pending UFA. Truthfully, he would’ve returned a Orlov level package had he been dealt at the TDL.

  8. It is what it is. No way I’d pay him that. They are stuck with him until he’s 36. They’ll be dumping his salary one day when Luke is in his prime winning games for us..That works not fit with our future place with Luke and Nemec. I wish him the best. He was solid for us.

  9. I wish him the best. He always kept a positive outlook even during long streaks of bad times in NJ. 50 million dollars is his reward and he will be on a team where he has a perfect opportunity to lead and excel at his game.
