Trading Hart for anything but a huge haul for him makes no sense unless Hart has said that he doesn't want to stick around for a rebuild. The guy is just 24, he will be in his prime years by the time they are compete ready!
It might be just me, but trading hart going into a rebuild makes as much sense as the hawks trading cat going into theirs. I'd figure you want to build around those kinds of young talents rather than ship them off for picks you have to use to replace them anyways. I guess you can get prime value for them selling high however.
It is rough being an Islanders fan… the team over achieved w/the core assembled for Tavares, which has kept them competitively mediocre, the status quo.
Good pay day for Gav. I think it's a lot but only 2 yrs so. Will be near his 30's when this contract ends so wondering about why only 2 yrs. Any who happy for him.. wish he was a hab but hey.. I do cheer for LA.
Carter Hart still developing.. and with the rumors.. I would love him as a hab but don't think Hart would be happy going to a rebuilding team that doesn't have a consistent defence corp(one that stays healthy.. Hehe..).

Hart needs a new team that will play in front of him, he is a good goalie but needs help in front of him, send Bob from FL back to PH, he sure is not doing it for FL.
The only thing about the Gavrikov contract I don't like is that it will make it hard to re-sign Roy and as much as Clark and Spence bring to the table neither brings what Roy does

Flyers fan will be disappointed with a Hart trade. I think the value of Hart is half at most of what it used to be. He is 24 turning 25 with a career .906 sv%. He is no longer that top goalie prospect.

For a moment I thought the Petersen trade was to open up the possibility of getting Hellebuyck. Gavy was fantastic and this term is good. He'll only be 30 when it ends and if his play continues he can probably get a good 4yr somewhere else.

I think the Kings overpaid for Gavrikov, it didn't really make a humungous difference in the Edmonton series. They still got dropped in the first round.

I see a lot of people saying this is an overpay for Gavrikov, but it's really not the Kings system is probably the perfect system for him, as soon as he got to LA his play drastically improved from his play in Columbus and he was the Kings best or second best defenseman in the playoffs

Hart is young enough you don't have to move him now i know when the Flyers got Cal Petersen . People think that means Hart out the Door why rush to Trade Hart you wait wait for a offer that blows Briere out the water. Yes they could move Hart at the draft or Trade Deadline . Petersen is the the wild card here what the Flyers do with a 500. Goalie they are rebuilding . i say give Petersen 35 40 games so Hart don't get burnt out playing to many games . i think that maybe why he is getting hurt playing to many games in a row .
