I think regardless, Drury only has two years to right the ship before we kick his ass out.
I would hire Kris Knoblauch, he's proven to coach the young and this talk of hiring a present coach is sounding more like a soap opera. What makes success with a coach is the players performance and being comfortable around the coach. I never did like the style the Rangers played when under the previous coach, it was always Kreider or Zibanejad to score when other players should have been shooting the puck, so bring Knoblauch on board plus two coaches with experience in the NHL and start fresh. Lets take a lesson from Montreal, they are rebuilding the right way without rushing and this is the right way to build a dynasty which i am sure they are doing.
I agree with the wrong way the lines are being used. We all watch inconsistence in their play whether offensive or defense, were the players uncomfortable with Gallant or were the Rangers inconsistence due to what position players always played . I agree with your statement and i hope they hire Knoblauch because all the coaches brought in have different styles and you're just mixing up the team. oh and i hope Drury isn't a control freak where it's his way or no way this alone can ruin a teams success.
Long delay is due to NYR hoping to hire Joel Q. But they can’t hire him, until they get the blessing of Gary Bettman. And Bettman will not address this matter during the Cup Finals. So the team can’t make any announcement until then. But I do think Q. is the choice. If they wanted Hynes or Knoblauch, the decision would have been made weeks ago.
