I wasn't surprised that they made it to the second round. I've been saying this on other devils podcasts that this playoff run reminded me of 2006 when NJ swept the Rangers in round 1 and then they were eliminated by Carolina in round 2 in 5 games and the Canes went on to beat Lindy's sabers in the conference final then went on to win the cup. History is repeating itself only difference now is that the Oilers got eliminated last night otherwise we would of most likely had a 2006 rematch between the Oilers and Canes. I just hope that NJ gets their acts together and really step up with playing defense, blocking more shots, and the power play and penalty kill stepping up outside of the goaltending. NJ is 1-4 All time vs Carolina in the playoffs with the only win coming in 2001, Lindy's 0-2 All time vs Carolina in the playoffs. NJ needs to avoid playing Carolina in the future when it comes to the playoffs cause every time they play them, it's always been NJ's kryptonite.
Was a bad series they sure fell aprt in the 2nd round they let a defensive team who barley score light them up with 24 goals. I liked both goalies in tge playoffs they just need more playoff experience and time to grow with the rest of the team
Cross River (Hudson River) Rivals
I'm extremely happy with our season. So much improvement. We beat our rivals even though our top players weren't really producing in the playoffs except for Hughes. That's where we have to improve if we want to make a run next season. Now we have to re sign key players in the offseason and hope that Schmid can be a true number 1 goalie for the future. Maybe we can do something to get Hellebuyck in a trade. Overall I'm very optimistic.

Great job by the youngsters this season! I think they need to get a little more physically tough especially along the boards.
