Joel Quenneville was the obvious candidate to pursue. But I guess the Rangers brass is too scared of the controversy to wait for the meeting between Quenneville and the Pope Bettman before making its choice.
We'll see but I am way less excited than when they hired Gallant.
Maybe it's a good sign. Who knows?

  2. It's always weird to me how all major league sports teams seem to recycle coaches that haven't won that much in their careers, or at all. But he did win it all the way back when Bush was president, as if that matters a lot now. He also seems to wear out his welcome within 2-3 years everywhere he's been. And still keeps getting hired, and hasn't missed a year in the NHL, but is over .500 in all five stints he's had, even with the Islanders.

  3. He has no idea what he’s getting himself into. Why? Because every year the Rangers stubbornly believe they can just buy the Stanley Cup or trade for it each time they come off the short end of the stick of winning it. Doesn’t work that way…

Winning the Stanley Cup is EARNED. What’s so hard for this organization to understand about that? 🤦🏼‍♂️lol

This is why the Rangers coaches have trouble figuring out which line combinations would work best and most importantly this is why the Rangers can’t create team chemistry.

Until they figure there’s no quick fix to winning a Stanley Cup by continuing trading away useful impact talent, firing coach after coach, which they have a long history of doing by the way…they won’t be winning another Stanley Cup again anytime soon.

I like Peter Laviolette a lot, I hope he resigns. He’s gonna regret taking the money to coach this mess.

  4. This is a joke! Rangers content with sloppy 5ths from this guy. Waste of time firing the last coach if this was the best that could be done. Drury is a FOOL

  5. I wonder if the guy who could die in peace back in ‘94 still feels that way about this pathetic team and their born to lose history. SMH.

  6. IMHO they should have retained Gallant. This is a waste. Nothing against Laviolette. 2023-2024 will end the same way all Rangers seasons end, on the wrong side of the congratulations line. Can't be too surprised by the continued ineptitude of the worst "Original Six" franchise.
