I haven’t been impressed enough by Smith to justify passing on Michkov and getting rid of some assets to move up one spot.
So, to speculate on top of this speculation, if we are trying to move up to 4th, that would suggest to me that San Jose is going to take Smith, and that we don’t want Michkov. Not exactly surprising, but it would appear to be the case if what this guy is saying is true.
4th interesting, That would mean either Michkov, Carlson or Smith, Even Fantili could go 4th.

This is such a cop out by a reporter. If you have heard it, but don’t know if it’s true, why should I care?
By throwing that at the end, shows he’s not confident enough to really report it, but also knows that it will generate interest. I’m treating this as nothing more than speculation. Teams discuss trades that don’t happen all the time.

That’s way more enticing to me than the other possible scenario laid out in today’s moch draft over at the Athletic in which Montreal trade the 5th OA to Detroit for the 9th and 17th. Which I see as a catastrophe.
Honestly, fuck it, I would do it. 5th + 31st + 2nd round pick + any prospect not named Hutson. Maybe Calgary’s 1st?
