  1. Good thing Vegas uses the Leafs blueprint for winning….lol…..This team has just won the cup in only 6 years and the Leafs have just won ONE round in what…..20 years……The Leaf players and management should be ashamed.

  2. the weird part is everyone saying fanthers golden nuts would be a shity series were right

  3. The takeaway should be that if your owner tolerates a mediocre ownership group running their team, you should pressure them into firing said front office or boycott them. Who's built the last cup teams; VGK's excellent front office, Joe Sakic, Yzerman, Doug Armstrong, the first guys Rocky Wertz picked in Chicago, etc. These aren't just good front offices, they're some of the best in sports and in a salary cap era, mediocre front offices will not get it done. Vegas had the conviction to realize Gallant and Deboer and grab a better coach with a better shot blocking defensive system that emphasizes two way forwards and large D that can maximize a solid but not great goalie and that fit their roster to a T. Lesser front offices would've been too cowardly to replace two HCs that achieved so much in such a short amount of time. Or move on from MAF and Pacioretty when the writing was on the wall that they were done (yes not the way they sent MAF out of town but the fact that they saw that he was done).

Sadly too many fans are using the "Bettman gave Vegas too good a team and/or rigged each series for them" as a coping mechanism and won't admit that most of the bad teams in the league just have shit front offices and no matter how much time you give Jim Benning, the bozos running the Wild, Coyotes, Jets, Flyers, etc. nothing will change until you fix the front office; they're just not good enough at their job to build the best team when there's a hard salary cap. If you put most of those stooges in charge of Vegas from the start, there's no chance most or any of them would've won a cup by now given how many trades/acquisitions Vegas made to solve the puzzle.

Sorry the truth hurts but that's how hard salary cap leagues work.

  4. Steve you forgot to mention the Martinez had the cup clinching goal 9 years exactly for the Kings in 2014. So his almost game winning goal would probably would of made history?

  5. Refs actually called Florida for their infractions this series. Florida shouldn't have made it to the SCF…

  6. Vegas played smart and didn't take stupid penalties. Florida didn't play so smart and took a lot of dump penalties they couldn't kill off.

  7. 0:04 a ring of the cup is taken off once every 13 years, vegas will be etched on the cup for between 52 and 65 years, not forever. the only teams on it forever are those on the bowl which were all pre 1924. leafs 67 team will be off in 2031.

  8. I think the copycat thing that other teams can do is build a deep team. Its not about the top 6, its about having a great bottom 6 as well, not to mention the D core. Look at how dependent the Panthers were on Tkachuk. The Knights didn't have one guy they couldn't win without. Just so deep.

  9. Re: the sternum question. Any bone in the human body will break if 14 pounds of pressure are applied in the correct direction.

  10. Vegas kept getting better after each series. They played a total 200ft 5v5 with drive and attention to detail.

Yzerman, Crosby, Toews, are great not just because of raw talent, but because they played a total game with a focus on what in the moment was needed to win.

Vegas as a team bought into that…They played Canadian work boot playoff hockey perfectly.

  11. It’s so cool to see Quick raise the cup again, never would’ve guessed it would be with Vegas though

  12. Stars fan here – couldn’t help but root against Vegas, but after two games it was hard to convince me to root against them. They played so damn well and it’s some consolation to say we lost to the Champion team. Better team won – celebrate now and see you next season!
