At least the distraction is gone. Tocchet and OEL didn’t get along in Arizona and now the dynamic doesn’t need to be talked about and when/if he’ll be bought out.
I’m stoked Tocchet will get a new defensive group for training camp. They could be a dangerous team with a solid back end and a Demko/Silovs tandem next season.

unpopular opinion, but I have a feeling this buyout’s main advantage is that the other teams will stop looking down on us for being desperate with our cap and we can trade Garland without having to add sweeteners. heck, maybe we can even get a second back for him.
