It seems from almost day one of the 2.0 version of the Jets there has been at least one boat anchor wanting out of Wpg publically. Kane, Trouba, Dubois …..how in the hell are you supposed to build a winning culture when you have at least one guy in your room asking to be traded?
You gotta start moving these guys asap or the attitude will spread to the good players you really want to keep!!
I'm really down on Chevys management of this team, he just hasn't dealt w these issues quick enough imo!!

I suppose super cautious Jets GM Kevin “Tortoise” Chevy will wait until after the amateur draft and the free agent frenzy to trade a few of them or bring them back to start the season and perhaps deal them at the March 2024 trade deadline.
So…Los Angeles is gonna go for a cheap goaltender next to Copley, because they're so tight against the cap. And yet they're heavily involved in talks for Dubois, who's reportedly looking for $9.0m per ? I'll believe it when it's done.
I have NO CONFIDENCE that Cheveldayoff will move Wheeler out of that room. I have this horrible feeling that we are going to see another year of Scheifele and Wheeler, and the young players here are going to suffer for it. Horribly. I wanna be wrong. Prove me wrong, Cheveldayoff.
I'm a Habs fan but love all Canadian teams and I agree this is an amazing chance for the Jets to kind of rebuild/reset by trading some of their assets. You can get really good young players/picks for the likes of Hellebuyck, Dubois, Wheeler and Scheifele. The Jets as they are right now are going anywhere even with one of the best if not THE best goal tender in the league.
Dubious for Dvorak 2nd and Armia
Hellebuck for Debrincat and 3rd
Schelfile for yammamto fogele and 2nd
Wheeler 4th and 6th for arvidson and 7th.
I don't know how Minn or NY can afford a 7mil-8mil player….Even if it's for kakko,Laffy, it's not enough for cap space…
Just make a deal with mtl so this stupid drama ends… no point of having him play for another team knowing he just going to go to mtl. Should be a fair hockey deal and enough of this cap space/ bad player morale trades. I miss the hockey trades and not these cap space player problem trades.
Especially stripping Wheeler from the C is a must trade.

As a habs fan.. idc if he ends up in LA or MTL. But i think this is just talk to make montreal raise their price. 2 years of talk to mtl only and now 5 to 10 teams are involved a couple weeks before the draft? Time will tell but i dont buy it lol.
As a Sabres fan, I’m rooting for another small market team get some really good deals here. Hope you’re willing to accept a reset and get quality combination of players, picks and prospects.
July 1st eleven teams can sign Dubois to a 1 year 8 million contract which the Jets can't match. A 2024 1st, 2nd and 3rd is basically the same as most trade deadline deals for top UFAs so it makes perfect sense for a contender like Carolina to do this. Dubois can then sign 8 years next year with the cap going up so he ends up with 9 years $$$. The clock is ticking on the Jets.

habs fan here, JEts situation is interesting but if they get good value, they have a lot of good players to move

if you retain on Dubois (on one year deal) and Hellebuck. Man if I were a contender to be about to add both at a nice cap hit. You can bascially get their top 2 prostpects and a first.
In better news I view this as our own little mini expansion draft. We never had one when we got a team. This might be the best opportunity any NHL team has had in the past 5-10 years to totally remake their team and create a new culture. I think we should move on from those four this summer. Get some guys who want some opportunity and want to grow within a group. And for the love of Pete, if we’re going to have a fourth line, let’s get some Canadian grit on it. All due respect to the Finns and Swedes on the Jets, but we need some guys from the West who can hit, check and offer a deterrent to the Ryan Reaves Marcus Foligno types of the league. If we got some guys like Aaron Asham, Jordan Tootoo or Rick Rypien I guarantee TNSE wouldn’t have such a hard time selling tickets. Get some guys on the team who have some heart like the fans in the stands. MB people don’t want to see the Ice Capades they want tough hard nosed hockey
Why does Everyone think Connor Helebucyk is the Messiah. He has to be one of the most inconsistent goaltenders in the NHL. DUMP HIM.
