Who the frick is Mike Peca
I can’t be the only one who doesn’t know how to feel.
With laviolette being the “safe” hire, I wanted big swings with the assistants who could bring some new ideas and life while also having the cachè to actually make some decisions.
I have no clue if peca falls into that categorization.
I know Michael Peca the player but not the coach. Hopefully this is a good hire. No idea

Even though he was on the Isles and a pest; that cheap shot by Darcy Tucker on him in the 02 playoffs was one of the dirtiest hits I have ever seen in my life and it basically ended his career. Nothing but respect for the guy and hope he does a good job here

Great hire. Americans were a really well-coached team this year (they had great talent but they were also really fun)
Mike has been a development coach before, he’s been working with JJ Peterka and Jack Quinn recently, to name a few.
I’m hoping this kind of works out like Brunette and Ruff where Laviolette kinda takes a back seat and lets Peca do his thing
