@Canucks de Vancouver

He is not getting past Washington if he makes it that far.

  2. ClosPins

So, you’re telling me that a team with the 11th overall pick is interested in a player ranked 4th? Surely you jest?!!

  3. Judge24601

The knock-on effect of this is that they’re also interested in Simashev, who’s an intriguing option. Chris Faber and Cam Robinson both think he’s the best d-man in the draft

  4. Batsinvic888

If he falls, I think there are really only 2 teams he falls to, Washington and Vancouver. We have a lot of Russians now, on and off the ice, so it’s a major draw. But if he falls, which may be likely, how the hell does Washington not pick him up?

I would be ecstatic of we got him, but I won’t believe or even hope until I see it.

  5. jdmay101

Canucks also reportedly interested in Bedard and Fantilli…

  6. ubcthrowaway-01

Funny how both Detroit and Washington have said this and the only reason they are picking before us is because we went 8-2-0 after the TDL for a bit

  7. MRFINEWINE1

LOL they are high on Michkov. Wow brilliant. Maybe don’t win a bunch of meaningless games & they would’ve actually had a shot at him. What a joke this franchise is 😂 Drance is such an idiot.

  8. fastcurrency88

I would be incredibly surprised if he falls to 11.

  9. Nucksfan23

This is my dream draft scenario, Michkov falling to 11 and we pick him

  10. TheOdiin

    > all things being equal, the club has shown interest in a couple of high upside Russian products in Michkov, a scoring winger, and Dmitri Simashev, a left-handed defenseman, whom they interviewed during the pre-draft process.

I could cry tears of joy hearing this, I love Simashev. If they pick Simashev at 11 I’ll feel the same happiness when we drafted Petey and Hughes. Also no shot Michkov falls to us. If we didn’t fuck our draft position with useless wins near the end then maybe we would have had a good chance to take him lol

He’s not making past Washington. If Washington has a chance to take him he’s going to the Capitals.

Ok. imma be crazy for a second and picture a scenario where this happens:

    1. Bedard goes to Chicago
    2. Fantilli goes to Anaheim
    3. Carlsson goes to Columbus
    4. Reinbacher goes to San Jose
    5. Smith goes to Montreal
    6. Sandin-Pelikka goes to Arizona
    7. Dvorsky goes to Philly
    8. Benson goes to Washington
    9. Moore goes to Detroit
    10. Leonard goes to St.Louis
    11. Michkov goes to Vancouver

Gotta dream right? God I would be so happy if we drafted Michkov.

  13. Drab_Majesty

This is a pure fantasy level scenario.

  14. intelligentx5

In other news, water is wet

  15. nodarknesswillendure

Yeah he’s going to fall to 11 and Kuzy is going to be the one walking up to the stage with Allvin & co, announcing that we’re picking Michkov. Michkov will jump out of his seat with excitement and everybody will cheer and clap out of sheer happiness for the Canucks. So beautiful, I can’t wait for next week!

  16. panthervca

If 3 of Wallinder,Simashev or ASP are around I’d see about dropping down a few and getting another pick.

  17. Artemchubarov

    Hey OP,

Thanks for the courtesy of plugging what mattered and linking to the piece. Really appreciate it.

  18. JerbearCuddles

I honestly think the idea he drops out of the top 5 is ridiculous. Lol. But hey, if we’re gifted Michkov at 11 you laugh all the way to the podium.

  19. KingInTheFarNorth

Realistic scenario for us getting Michkov

    11oa and 2024 1st to Arizona for 6 (and maybe a 2024 2nd)?

Arizona has four 2024 2nds lol

  20. NerdPunch

[The Athletic] Multiple industry sources familiar with the matter indicated that the Canucks are high on **Bedard**. Our sense of the matter is that the club wouldn’t be scared off by the uncertainty that surrounds Bedard should he drop down the draft order and be available with the 11th overall pick.

  21. Professional_Care78

I feel silly for asking this but will michkov be present at the entry draft?

  22. ijekster

Trading up to 4 or 5 to take him is a no brainer imo. He has as much potential as bedard with half the value

  23. Cisco9

Lol. EVERYONE is high on him. No way he drops to 11.

  24. BeastMasterWithAnR

  25. carry-on_replacement

I thought they wanted to get to the playoffs quick? Considering how short sighted the Canucks management are I’m surprised they would even consider playing the long game by waiting for Michkov to come over in 2026

  26. nickypoopoo69

If the attitude issues are legit I hope he never ends up on the team.

Yeah it’s rumours and stuff but “ »I can show correspondence when I wanted to meet him and, as a scout, ask a few questions and do an interview… I have not seen such disrespect for other people in my life”, if true, is not the kind of person that should be on the Canucks.

  27. HighburyOnStrand

    Here’s the thing.

Leonard? Michkov? Moore? Reinbacher? Dvorsky? Willander? Benson?

One of those guys is guaranteed to be available for us. …and Danielson or Barlow will also probably be there if we decide to go for the yeoman CHL player with a « high floor. » There’s also But or Simashev likely there as well if we have an evaluation on them that warrants the risk.
