they waited till after 12 noon to announce OEL buyout. kudos to donnie and dhali who put ownerships feet to the fire and brought about the buyout.

The tradition of government and media is to announce anything that might be controversial or embarrassing on Friday afternoon to try to limit media engagement and public interest. This new management regime played chicken with Aquilini's wallet and won. I feel pretty certain that they got read the riot act and if they do this again it will result in them getting fired. Unless the Canucks can move out another contract, they're not going to be able to very active in mid-high level contracts in free agency, because they still have 4-5 roster players to sign.
we;ve been critical of the aqulini's but thumbs up on the bravery to write the buyout check. 20 million is huge money even in 2023

Instead of Lucic they should get a guy like John Hayden who plays centre and is tough as well. He would be better option then Lucic that’s for sure
