@Rangers de New York

Selon le président de Daily Faceoff et initié principal Frank Seravalli, le régime de Drury évalue l’intérêt pour Goodrow et pourrait être disposé à le déplacer afin de créer une certaine flexibilité de plafond.

You mean extending a 4C for 3.6 million was a pants on head stupid move?

    You don’t say

  2. TheSensation19

    It’s the most obvious.

I think we can find someone.

That in turn makes me think Bettman has informed teams that the cap will not go up by more than the minimum $1M. If that’s the case, this offseason could be a blood bath for a lot of teams.

  4. beerleaguer2

Can’t wait for him to be traded and then score a goal and fans will complain they shouldn’t have traded him.

  5. DrFrocktopus

Boy the 2021 offseason just keeps giving lol

There will be bidding wars to dump guys to the o my non capped out teams in the league such as Anaheim , Arizona, and maybe a select few more. The cap has been stagnant for so long, I don’t know who will be chomping at the bit to take goodrows deal without significant compensation or a high draft pick. So many teams have no cap space , even non playoff teams. Somethings not right in my opinion

So every player we spent the Buchnevich money on would be gone in 2 seasons and in every case aside from Goodrow…..less.

Meanwhile we are trying to resign Tarasenko and find pennies under the couch for him. You know…the guy a younger and more durable Buchnevich replaced in St Louis.

It’s almost like we could have just kept him, the 3 first rounders, 2nd rounder and Morgan Barron (the capital we’ve used at the past 2 deadlines to bolster rw depth) rather than have a 2 year hole at rw and frantically finding spare tires to temporarily fix it

Note: surprised to see downvotes given 2 years later , people believe Goodrow, 1 year or Reaves, 1 year of Nemeth and 1 year of Dryden Hunt who was given a higher priority in Game 6 of the ECF over Kakko is viewed as more desirable by this sub than a Top 15 right winger as well as having 3 first rounders a 2nd rounder and a bottom 6 center

  8. Brocktarrr

Yea this was inevitable the second he got that contract

  9. flaamed

it’s a shame he sucked with us cuz he was one of the only players who looks like they cared in the playoffs

Lol do we really need to refer to the guy as « Daily Faceoff president and senior insider »

  11. Pepperoni_playboi94

Goody is a good guy and definitely has C material but idk if the rangers are the right place for him given the cap and overall vibe.

  12. BernieManhanders23

Like him but time to go if it means we sign key guys

  13. BeesVBeads

I like Goodrow as a finishing piece and he’s a solid 2 way option but with the cap being limited again this year he’s gonna have to go.

  14. QuickRelease10

I like both like and question a lot of Drurys signings. I guess it’s the problem with rushing a rebuild and going right into “win now” mode. They’re going to have this problem with Trocheck soon too, especially if Kakko breaks out and they have to pay him.

I like Goodrow and Trocheck a lot, but were they necessary? Especially when Chytil emerged last playoffs? Couldn’t he have went out and signed a solid depth center for cheap?

Goodrow is a really good player, but you could put together a 4th line for what he makes. You find players like Goodrow, but you don’t pay them.

  15. PaulSach

Kinda stinks, as he’s a good bottom 6 player and one of the guys whose effort is never in question. But 3.6 is also a lot for one of those guys, especially in the cap-strapped world.

  16. ImNoSir

Can’t wait til we have to package picks and or a player to move this awful contract.

  17. JukemanJenkins

New coach preaches work ethic and commitment only to have the GM ship out one of the few players that you can point at on the roster that consistently shows up.

I get that it’s probably a necessary evil with their cap situation, but I fear this will have a larger effect than just « shipping out our 4C ».

  18. SteveFrench12

Youre saying this senior insider is spouting off potential moves that every fuckin rangers fan has been waiting to see?

  19. NotFoley

Just waiting for Drury to give up an asset to move him so he can overpay someone else in FA

  20. nfabz8

Find a partner then sign Jesper Fast 🤪

  21. RZAxlash

I understand why we need to move his contract and I hated it the day it was signed. That said, this team can’t afford to lose too many character guys. Goodrow is an assistant captain and plays an up and down game. He would be missed on the ice.

  22. Smooth_Sir5967

    Goodrow is a good player
He will be on the 4th line on any contending team.

  23. bobby_booch

Drury has zero fucking foresight about anything.

  24. wossquee

He’s wildly overpaid but it’ll be sad to see him go.

  25. Left_Detective_6836

As soon as we trade him, we will be looking for a cheaper replacement. The cap has changed the game. The Rangers were not successful, now we have an expensive roster with very little room to retool. It will be interesting to see how management reacts, …. With Laviolette, we’ll try to be grittier and hard to play against. We are not built that way, how will they accomplish that? This off season will be very interesting, a lot of other teams have cap issues.
