@Penguins de Pittsburgh

1. Apologies if my face froze once or twice in the video. Wifi crapped the bed a couple of times for some reason.

  2. I definitely think Granlund is getting bought out. Taylor Haase and Danny Shirey talked about four potential buyout candidates for the Penguins, and the one that makes sense and gives the Penguins cap relief, is Granlund.

  3. One thing we should remember is that the new Leaf GM inherited a much better team than Kyle did. (No offence Pens), but the Leafs are a much better club. Lots of work to do in Pitt. I guess the take away is : be patient.

  4. It's not going to help the Penguins right now, but another possible (rare) Hextall win could be 2022 4th round pick, goalie Sergei Murashov. He had a ridiculous year in Russia. Had a.948 save percentage in 37 games, in the MHL. And a .947 save percentage in his lone KHL game. He's only 19, so who knows. But considering the dearth of talent the Penguins have in the system, it's weird he's not being talked about by anyone, really. I know Danny Shirey brought his name up not long ago. But he doesn't seem to be on anyone's radar right now.

    But you can't glean much from a presser. But Dubas was very impressive today, answering questions. There's a ton of work for him to do. But I think Dubas puts the organization on the right track in a big way.

  5. Absolutely love this hire. I’m interested to see how he puts his fingerprints on this roster this off-season. I wonder what he’s gonna do with Zucker as a UFA if he will pay him or sign someone or a similar quality in free agency

  6. I'm on board with basically everything Dubas said, especially that the defense needs a makeover. They gotta let Dumoulin walk (thank you for your service Dumo, but it's time) and try to move Petry and Rutta. I still can't believe the Pens could've had Jakob Chychrun, but Ron didn't pull the trigger and spent the money on Granlund instead. Ron Hextall literally ruined this team. He straight up did, I'm still kind of mind blown by how dumb he was. Dubas has his work cut out for him but I trust him.

  7. Pittsburg hired on Dubas hired on a big huge problem, … you will find out!
    Toronto Maple Leafs got rid of a huge problem and got a bigger problem, Dubas' good friend Brad Treliving is now Leafs GM! Tree is rated mediocre and a step down from Dubas.
    Steel town got Dubas because his wife, Shannon did not like it in Toronto.
    He is gone I am very pleased.
    Sullivan and Dubas will lock horns,
    … it is inevitable.
    Good day

  8. Best position for carter is use him as the 13th forward. That's the only way this roster is not hampered by him. If there is an injury and they need some one to step in, he will be well rested and maybe useful. I just don't see how his lack of defense and speed help the bottom of the line up.

  9. Dubas is way over rated, he did nothing in Toronto in 5 years, the core 4 were already in Leaf land before he took over, all he did was over pay them and then went on to give away or let other good players walk, he only won 2 extra games in the playoffs in 5 yrs

  10. Doug, you love what Dubas did in Toronto? Does playoff success not matter to you? Why are you two so excited about Dubas? He's a young GM that's learning but he's not a great GM by any stretch. Have you analyzed his trade record? Marchment, McCann, Kadri, Kapanen, Foligno, Rittich, Muzzin, Campbell, and on and on it goes. Terrible trading record. He came available to PIttsburgh from Toronto because he was offered this role (hush hush) while he was making his decision to renew with Toronto. Man of integrity huh? There were better GM choices for Toronto but Shanahan believed in him and stuck with him and has very little to show for it now. You can have him. Do you think he'll trade back for Murray. Great contract! Thanks Dubas!
