  1. How awkward is the moment when it's over but you gotta stare into the camera silent for the next 30 seconds always wanted to ask that

  2. Bullshit. The defense and goaltending have done relatively well, the big boys consistently don’t show up. Idc if you add more depth, if they don’t produce good luck.

  3. Happy Groundhog Day!
Having 4 players (or as many you want) as players you build around is not the issue here. But you can't expect to make meaningful change to the complexion of the team when a handful of players eat up the cap space needed to acquire support players.
Here's hoping there's bold moves – any but the status quo.

  4. Leaving the payroll dominating core four intact means the Leafs will only be able to replace its mediocre players with new mediocre players. ✔️

  5. Don't trade MM. He's one of the best all round players in the league, but Leaf brass knows that (I hope). It's the last year 24-25 of the JT contract that's a problem. Figure something out for that and Leafs are good to go with $ for everyone on the team and FA signings. Maybe he can be bought out after this year. If he can be then I would.

  6. Mike, why is Auston Matthews NOT going to get traded? If you can trade Wayne Gretzky, then NO ONE is off limits for the right gain. Edmonton couldn't afford Gretzky and Toronto can't afford Matthews. They certainly cannot afford him and build a quality team around him.

  7. I'm not a leafs fan, but i think they should trade Nylander for a number 1 dman(shutdown type -Pesce type), resign O'Reilly and hope Robertson and Knies can stay healthy and contribute next year. Keeping the core 4 makes it almost impossible to upgrade their areas of need.

  8. Why do you people still think that anyone would ever trade for those team breaking contracts for proven soft and weak players that cannot play when games get real? You are stuck with them, get over it!

  9. Lol stay tuned for another hot off the press video in 4 hours time, 'Should Matthews re sign?" Or "which of the core four …."

    Same stories beong recycled.

  10. Panthers had the guts to make BIG changes … The Golden Knights had the guts to make BIG changes, because they knew they had to be made to be serious contenders.
The Leafs are still in fantasyland… if we keep everything the same it will be great. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  11. Get rid of Tavares. However possible. Or get some elc guys that can play top 9 and top 6 D

  12. The only way the team gets better overall, is to get relief on the Cap.
    How ??
Right now, 23/24 Cap is only a Million higher than last year. Cap relief, to b properly balance the talent comes with moving one of the Core 4. And as of right now, until the end of June, that leaves Nylander or Marner. After July 1 , that leaves Marner.
    My feeling is Nylander, asap.
Not as much Cap space as Marner but…
We’ve been riding the horror and curse of bad signings of Dubas , for too long.
It won’t all come together this year, but it wasn’t going to happen being status quo either.
Major muscle, with speed has to be brought in. I liked the moves at the trade deadline this year. Unfortunately, it was too little too late.
Stay on that track. It’s there to sign, if you move one of the core 4.

  13. Great analysis Craig….Either the core four stay intact or you get better support around them by moving one. I prefer the latter option at this point

  14. Craig Buttons You are 100% correct. I remember when Gretzky played no one went near him because they’d have to go through McSorley, Messier or whoever else was on his line to protect him. That’s what Toronto needs with Marner and Matthews.

  15. Who cares? It's not like they're going to win a championship anyway. You know there are other teams, besides the Laughs in the NHL right?

  16. the core four dont hate to lose so with a mentality like that youll never win with those guys

  17. Nylander, Matthews and Marner are great players in the prime of their career and all 3 played well in the playoffs this year. Getting rid of them would be a mistake. Plus they ARE Leafs. Aside from Reilly they have been on the Leafs a while. The PROBLEM is the Tavares contract. That 11 million dollar albatross is preventing the Leafs from having cap flexibility. The worst year will be 2024/25 – next season, the final year of that contract. If I were GM I would resign Nylander & Matthews. But that will put the team in a cap crunch for 1 season 2024-25. I would just suck it up, let that year roll on by and resign JT for 5 million (2 years) after that season. If he refuses – let him walk. Either way that freed up money will be used to fortify the core 3 with a better balanced team. The other option I keep hearing of trading one of the core 3, will only worsen the team after 2025. I want Luke Schenn back. Kerfoot, Brodie and Holl need to go. Too much money for what you get in return. Dubas threw away all our draft picks and that has screwed this team as well. Treliving cannot give away draft picks to get rid of an unwanted contract. The Leafs window of opportunity was 2019-2023. That window I feel is closed for 2 seasons but will re-open in 2025 if patience is maintained. Sadly patience is one thing Leafs fans have none of. They want a cup and they want it now.

  18. Just wondering if an intern is responsible for the extremely low volume of these videos.

  19. "Should the Maple Leafs' Core 4 remain intact?" No, they should not. It has been painfully obvious for years that they should be broken up. Keefe needs to go too. The only caveat, they are offering to sign such team friendly deals that the team simply can't turn them down. Other than that, rebuild with players that will work in the post season.

  20. Leafs can only get rid of 3 of the 4 “core” players and the one they can’t get rid of is the one that needs to go.
