  1. I vividly remember this game live on TV and re-watching it scores of times. I must have blown up my VCR within a week; solid entertainment.

  2. Man Vanbiesbrouk sure was sorry he got involved…Kelly boy tuned him up

  3. Richmond looked scared to death vs Gillies don't blame him though.Clark was a guy no one wanted to fight.Love the passion in McPhees eyes  couldn't wait to get on the ice to fight anyone especially Duane Sutter, Hockey is so boring now days TY for posting this

  4. RANGERS AND RANGER FANS AND ANNOUNCERS ALL PUSSIES ALWAYS WAS ALWAYS WILL BE .

  5. That was lame! I've seen better fights in the Walmart parking lot back home in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan.

  6. I was at this game with my older brother (Rangers fan), we clutched each other as if we were going to do battle

  7. This happened on my Birthday when I was 19 and here I am on my Birthday at 55 still loving it! Some people never grow up

  8. I remember watching this on USA Network. My dad recorded it. I watched this fight over and over. First fight I can remember seeing goalie vs goalie fight.

  9. 0:55 Gotta love it, Richmond looking around like "Isn't….isn't anyone gonna stop me? N-no? Uhhhhh, alright, well, here goes…." I think Gillies felt bad for him and took pity on him. Then Hrudey coming in like a man on fire going after Beezer. I really wish I'd been alive to see games like this.

  10. i soooooooooooo remembering watching this game live on usa network. classic. ranger vs islander rivalry bring back these great rivalries.

  11. This rivalry needs to have both teams being strong at the same time. It's always one's good and the other sucks,or they both suck at the same time

  12. Fun fact: In Kelly Hrudey's book, he said that he was supposed to go out to dinner with Vanbiesbrouck after the game. It had been arranged by their agent, I believe. Kelly said after that, it was called off.

  13. I'd give anything to live in the 80's and experience 80's hockey. I didn't start watching until 1996

  14. Nothing could compare to the hatred the Rangers and Bruins had for each other from 1969 to 1975. It peaked in the 1970 playoffs when Giacomin told Sanderson the Rangers were out to get him.

  15. Stupid Espo, you gotta give Richmond a lot of credit, Why would I give Richmond credit? he took on Gillies then turtled like a coward, for that I should give him credit?

  16. Gee, I wonder why Gillies decided to try and fight Sandstom and not Steve Patrick…lol….Can anyone say Cluck Gillies

  17. LOLOLOLOL LOOK AT THIS SPINELESS GUTLESS COWARD TRYING TO LOOK LIKE A TOUGH GUY!!! 3:18 YOU'RE EITHER GOING TO SKATE OFF THE BENCH AND FIGHT, OR STAY POSTED UP LIKE A TIMID COWARD AND TRY TO ACT LIKE YOU'RE GOING TO DO IT!!! HE'S LIKE THE DUDE WHO HAS 3 GUYS HOLDING HIM BACK AND THEN WANTS TO ACT LIKE A TOUGH GUY ROFL!!!

  18. I SO REMEMBER WATCHING THIS GAME LIVE AND KEEPING SCORE OF IT. CLASSIC RANGER VS ISLES
