Summed up pretty good right here, what the fuck did we do to deserve this

After all the media around players not intending to re-sign yesterday I’ll admit that I got caught up in it. Today it seems like it was blown out of proportion though.
Of course these players won’t commit to resigning. They’ve got the right to test the waters of free agency, and of course they want to. The organization is going through major changes right now, so why would they commit to a team that they don’t know will be competitive, they don’t know what coaching/mgmt will be like.
They’ve got the right to wait and see, so why give that away.
After Johnny walked, the Flames management is scared of it happening again, so they’re the ones stuck making tough decisions. I’m sure Conroy is doing everything he can to get decisions from these guys now, but the players don’t have to make decisions right now if they don’t want to.
It’s quite the mess GMBT/Sutter left for management but there’s a lot of opportunity here as well if Conroy can make good moves this season.

Shitpost aside, as a grown assed man, I’m not afraid to admit I wept like a baby when I saw that scene back when it first aired, and to this day, it still brings a tear to my eye every time I see it again.
