I’m not a big fan of TDA, but I’ve certainly softened on the idea with the salary retention and the concept of him being a 3rd pair guy for us. Will certainly be a help to have him back QBing a power play unit

Cue people crying over signing a 50-60 point third pairing defenseman for 2.5 million dollars…

For all the hubbub the other season, TDA wasn’t terrible. Kept the media sheets clean and did his job and produced in spite of meh defense. Sure he’s not great defensively but not every dman in the league is great, you just need them to be serviceable for the 40-50 wins in the regular season then not crap the bed in the 16 wins needed after.

For $2.5m you’re not going to find much better offensive production from a guy on the 3rd line or honestly find much on the market this off-season that could match TDA on offense. Ghost was great but was never going to take a pay cut to stay when he can go to a bad team and get more money and still get a ring later on in his career.

I’m alright with it if it happens when it happen. That flyers team was cheeks and Tortorella is not the coach that can change that trajectory or mesh well with certain players style honestly.

If the salary retained bit is true we could do much worse for 2.5 mill tbh

This guy has a Tony burner ass name

  6. Now I’m wondering what the other moves are going to be? If this goes through, the Canes will have Burns, Pesce, Chat and TDA on the right side. None of them are going to sit, or play the off side.

When I said the team needed to get more offensive, this isn’t what I meant

Chatty going to have to carry is ass defensively.

Would.have preferred an actual PP coach
