Reinbacher is the consensus best Dman in the draft and most mocks have him going 6 or 7, with some scouts arguing ASP or Simashev is the best. If they were going next best Dman it would be Willander. That Drag pick was certainly a reach. Also Benson probably drops.
Are we begging? It's OTT that needs to trade Debrincat or lose him for free next year. If it's not agreeable to SY we just walk and make our picks.
I'd be very happy with those two guys. Whatever Yzerman does though it's hard to question based on past results.

my Detroit dream scenario for the draft: trade 9 + 41 for 15 + 24 with NSH (Trotz said he‘s trying to move up), then trade 24 + 42 + Zadina for DeBrincat, trade 17 + Berggren for Konecny, draft Benson/Perreault/Willander/Sandin Pellika/Moore/Wood/Honzek/Danielsson at 15 (honestly don‘t care who as long as it‘s not too much of a reach – am sure Y made his homework), trade next year‘s 1st from BOS for Pesce and then sign Gudas as a FA 💪

As for Debrincat, i saw rumbling that a handshake deal is in place for him. With Detroit giving up 17, Zadina and either one of the second rd picks or Boston's first next year. Contingent on an extension being signed and a "certain" prospect available at 17 .
