The fact that the NHL would let the coyotes play in mullet again and not have this situation resolved is insane. No other league would allow this kind of thing to happen. No franchise has had this many chances given to them. As much as I feel for fans of the coyotes, you have to admit that they need a fresh start somewhere else. The current franchise has just been mismanaged to hell and back. Maybe it can work with the right ownership and management with a future expansion franchise.

Hopefully the NHL uses the 2026 CBA to do away with there being no salary cap in the playoffs. I have no idea why that was ever even a thing.
So Bowness comes into town and takes away the C from Wheeler. Then when the team is falling apart in the second half of the season the coach can't figure out how to stop the bleeding, which is kinda his job. Right? Oh yeah, then the team is publicly sh!t on by the coach to end the season. The whole team comes out against that in the end of season media scrums. Superstitions have been a thing since the sport started. I love them. I love them all. Panarin's is a new one on me. Great, I love this as it adds more depth to the character aspect of this game. I might have just become a fan on Bread Man due to this.

I just had an idea regarding non-Olympic international play. I think a good way to make NHL owners (or at least their arena owners) happy is if they had 32-country (or regional representations for small countries and very large countries) tournament and each NHL arena hosts a particular country. This would culminate in the all-star festivities where the championship game is played (including all countries being represented in the usual skills competition). The reason the owners might be on board is that it allows them to generate revenue while the players get to have their international competition.
Just have to figure out a fair way for the countries to be assigned to arenas as some will draw more fans than others.
As far as marty walsh goes, I lived in Boston while he was the mayor and boston politics is pretty mobby so I'm not surprised he's buddy buddy with the opposition but I also wouldn't be surprised if he's willing to turn on a dime. He's a bad dude, the players need that on their side.
I don’t think the Flames want to trade with Florida anymore look what happen last time one team made the cup final and the other missed the playoffs altogether
As a Canes fan, every offseason Waddell does things that make no sense to me….but they usually seem to work out so I'm taking a cautiously optimistic approach that things will work out well. Having said that, I hope that involves Staal coming back.

I honestly do not think Rod Brind'amour would allow Jordan Staal to walk. If management can't get that deal done, I could totally see him crashing in on a meeting, veins popping out of neck and smoke coming from his ears, hair turning yellow, and yelling at everyone. And then everyone finally working out a contract so they don't have to deal with super saiyan Rod.

The locker room is the trouble in Winnipeg. Sounds like the problem is being addressed and a new culture is being built. They have been on a slow regression since 2018. The analytics prove this over the past 5 seasons. There is no argument to the contrary. The truth is, they can now move forward again. The question is how long this will take them?
Move the Arizona team to Atlanta. Put them in the west and mandate a limit for late night, pacific time zone starts. This isn’t that difficult. Arizona flat does not deserve a team. Cities like Milwaukee, Houston, Atlanta far more deserving. And pease call them something else besides thrashers or coyotes. Atlanta v Vegas, v Nashville, v Dallas, v Chicago, LA, and on and on. Totally workable.

Don't really blame Wheeler for wanting to bail. He got stripped of the captaincy and when the team sucked during the playoffs, the players got ripped by the coach publicly. With the Flames, maybe Toffoli's one of those players who enjoyed playing for Darryl Sutter, and when the coach got fired, Toffoli wants to bail also(?)
