What? No. Unacceptable. Is this fucking real? A 50 point 2/3 center at $3.5 mil is worth a 6th round pick? This is a **bad** deal.

Should’ve been more than a 6th round pick, but clearly the Torts/Hayes relationship was scorched. Better to move him, and move forward.
I will miss the chemistry and vibe he brought to the locker room.

Blues fan here, 3.5 million for a guy that had 50+ points on your team last year, and only gave up a 6th. Feels like a good trade for us. What are Flyer fans thinking?

I still have yet to hear a single reason why this is a bad move. The market was set by Nashville and Torts making it known he didn’t want Hayes on the team. This opens a roster spot for a young player to show what he can do at the NHL level. It helps them be worse and therefore is helpful in getting the types of 1st round picks they need. His retained contract will be gone long before this team needs that cap space anyway. The Torts/Hayes distraction is now gone, which is good since young players don’t need that crap.
