This fan base getting stuck on a players one or two good seasons? No, that never happens.

Don’t think I need this but I will anyways

Tough to make a fair trade. Especilly No US born wants to play in Calgary.

I feel like we need to stop comparing stats between the 2. Sharangovich is significantly younger and still has a long way to go. Scouts have had their eyes on him for a while now and it seems with this deal Conroy and management are more concerned with what he COULD become rather than what and where he is now

I personally like how Sharangovich celebrates all of his goals.

you’ll get a lot of “devils fan here! take care of rango we all adore him!” so I figured I would swing in as the resident sharangovich hater.

    * he had 24 goals after being superglued to jack hughes hip. just like janne kuokkonen who put up a respectable 25 points in 50 games when attached to jack, as soon as he was demoted in the lineup he became an overall useless hockey player.

    * he kills penalties, but not particularly well. he was the devils worst penalty killer last season by every metric. good enough to be a PK2 kind of guy but nobody youre going to say “wow! we got a 2-way player!” about.

    * the next time you see him attempt to fish a puck out of the corner or win a board battle will be the very first time he’s done that.

    * he was health bombed in the playoffs. mercifully.

he has a good shot. he will not and can not create for himself, but if he’s set up for one-t’s by a guy with great vision he’ll probably score you 20 goals. but unless he has a come to jesus moment, the effort level, compete, and ability isn’t enough for him to ever be more than a third line plug who will play in a different league by the time he’s 28.

(prepared for the downvotes which is okay. just giving you guys a non “hurr durr good trade flamesbros take care of our boy” revit groveling response.)

It felt like every devil took a step forward last year other than yegor. If he gets more ice time I could see him being a 20 goal guy again.

We’ll see how he plays for us… but i’m fairly hopeful with Yegor.

Good player I’d be stoked if I was a flames fan

I’m going to think positive and trust the scouts here. Sounds like we think he can do much better with a greater role on the team so I look forward to seeing him play come October

    And he’s not as old

I like this trade. Anything that gets us younger and faster is good by me.
