  1. It's funny, but also unprofessional to put him 5th IMO. Either the guy doesn't watch alot of EDM games (eastern conference guy), has a ridiculous bias against McD, or is just being petty. Either way, come on dude.

  2. Man there’s so many angry mcdavid haters on the internet it’s wild. Yes he’s an Edmonton oiler and yes stay mad haters cause he’s not on your team and he’s not going to be on your team ever lmao.

  3. That "voter" just robbed… or delayed, McDavid being the ONLY PLAYER IN NHL HISTORY to have multiple unanimous Hart Trophies

  4. Watch McDavid use that 5th as motivation to put up 200pts.

  5. Whoever voted him 5th should have their voting privileges stripped and they should be fired

  6. Connor is already, to me all time top-3 regular season player. Hard to beat Gretzky and Lemieux in points but this guy is absolutely best after those two. No one even close except teammate but even he is far behind. Fun to see what next Connor can do.

  7. Some people see the game different, and yes, there is bias. In this case it seems lke sour grapes but it would be interesting to see or hear what the reason for this was.

  8. Leave the silliness out of the awards, or draft show..!!
I couldn't even watch the show due to the escapades that were going on… I love Nashville, as they are my fave football team… But way too much Bentley and shenanigans going on.
Keep it more hockey based and less showtime.

  9. Rumour has it that the 5th place vote was from Connor’s mother Kelly because as a child Connor refused to throw his dirty laundry into the hamper.😮

  10. someone just felt like trolling a lil I guess lmfao safe to say their opinion doesn't matter anyways most likely

  11. Hart Trophy winner should be Erik Karlsson. San Jose was the 5th worst team, but EK played hell of a season. No other team was as depended on somebody as SJ was on EK. Obvious Hart winner.

  12. Quite outrageous that a “Pro Hockey” guy could logically put that vote in. I’m so glad you posted this video

  13. He's the best player ever. I'm old, I saw Orr. McDavid is the best hockey player who has ever lived.

  14. Seth rorabaugh, a writer from pittsburgh was the one who gave pasta the 1st vote and mcdavid the 5th.

  15. Ted lindsay if mcdavid no doubt, but i'd probably put tkachuk as the top hart vote, and I hate that guy

  16. Hot take:
I could name 4 guys who had a more complete season 🤷
McDavid was the best OFFENSIVE player this year.
And to be blunt, I don't get the obsession with it.
The year Ovechkin breaks Gretzky's record, will he be the MVP? That's basically what people are saying here.
And no, I'm not trolling anyone.
If a Canadian team wins the Cup, I'd prefer Edmonton.
Though, I live in Canada and have 2 favored American teams (one in each Conference, the way everyone should view pro sports 😂 Like, I never say "we played a great game" cause I don't play for the team..), the Oilers are the Canadian team I'd most like to see win the Cup.
Like.. the 12th team in the league I'd cheer for in the Final 🤣
Ullmark had a historic campaign. Tkachuk carried the Panthers when Barkov was hurt and Bobrovsky was up and down. MacKinnon lead a phenomenal second half to win the Central (against very game Dallas and Minnesota teams). And Jack Hughes had his break out year, leading the Devils in practically every category AND having his best defensive effort yet (something that gave NJ a MASSIVE boost, something McDavid's efforts didn't actually do. Like, they almost won the division, but it was similar to last year. NJ was head and tails better almost solely because Hughes was that good).
Guys can fight me or spam histrionics and statistical anomalies McDavid broke, but alot of those anomalies were the result of poor discipline and a top tier power play.
And in the playoffs, where a soft penalty is less likely, McDavid and company had an earlier exit.
I'm not saying McDavid defends terribly, I'm just saying.. when it counts, he has to be better in that aspect, cause he's not getting 2-4 PP handouts every game 🤷

  17. Glad to know Tkavuck will never win an award, other than being the biggest “Cnut” in the league!

  18. Does Connor McDavid also vote? If yes, he may have done so as the professional and gentleman that he is, putting others first.

  19. Most sports fans don't understand what the award is even for…

  20. 5th… nah bro.. someone salty as fwk. I'm a ranger fan. Word has it it was Seth rorabaugh from pittsburg 😮

  21. I’m quite certain the only logical person who voted against him, was Connor McDavid himself. Either way who cares since he deservingly won it.

  22. Generally speaking the award is for the MVP to their respective team but typically it's not how the trophy is awarded. It's usually given out to the highest point getter or RBI producer, ETC. You can argue against who this writer chose but he is following the spirit of what the award was meant for. McD has the 2nd best player in the world with him so you can make the case all day long that he isn't the MVP. Best player, best performance sure. but MVP is debatable if you want to get technical.

  23. So the MVP for he's team doesn't have to be the best player in the leauge!
And IF you count in Drai it makes McD less MVP for Oilers, cause they have two studs on the team. And then count in RNH's season and Hyman.
So does McD really need to make 500 points for Oilers?
And how about last place Ducks, is Gibson MVP for faceing 50,000 shots?
But I agree, 5th might be a stretch.

  24. Maybe the most famous example of this was in baseball when Carl Yastrzemski won the Triple Crown, led the Red Sox to a pennant and had one of the greatest seasons in Major League history and one writer didn't put him on the ballot at all. And that ballot had 10 spaces, so the writer, whoever he was, didn't put down Yaz as one of the top 10 players in the AL for that year. In that case it was a Boston guy who got beat out of a unanimous trophy, so this year was Boston's revenge.

  25. It’s clearly someone who has gotten a vote but is not being an impartial professional. Period!

  26. 100% it’s Jim Matheson who voted him 5th

  27. Person should have their credentials taken away. 2nd? Sure…difference of opinion. 5th?!? Obviously hockey is not the sport for him/her to be covering.

  28. One of Two reasons-The guy who did this either so badly wanted someone else to win so he put McDavid way down to 5th instead of 2nd or he really doesn’t want McDavid to ever win so he put him as low as possible but trust me he knows hockey and knows McDavid should be first
