  1. The fact that he took so long to give an answer as to what he saw in Kostin and Yamamoto shows he’s going to use them as trade pieces for Debrincat

  2. Really like Yzerman's answer at 7:00 mins. Something all the armchair GM's all over Facebook don't quite realize. It's all about making smart moves and not dumb moves based on emotion. Yzerman and his team are building the organization up to be successful and competitive for a long time. If they pull the trigger on an overpriced player too early then they risk imploding in the middle of the rebuild and setting the team back another 5 years. Too many folks are hoping for a forced trade for DeBrincat or another similar player just for the sake of a playoff run when the team is still likely a couple years out from any serious contention. I'd rather see the RedWings have a stable core and team that is ready to be competitive for a long time instead of a random playoff run destined for a first round exit while also torching the future. While I'd love to see a trade for a big time goal scorer to compliment Larkin, I'm hoping it comes for as reasonable of a price as we can get. We're not contenders next year, so there's still time to make a trade or wait for an FA that could spark the roster and get it to the point of legitimate contention.

  3. We've got a important season of Red Wings hockey to watch coming down the pipe fast.

  4. I like how everyone is asking in a roundabout way if he's trading for Debrincat

  5. Some people forget how long and how hard it was for the Wings before 96 hell It took Yzerman almost getting traded. He is building it slow and steady. So that when we start to compete we can stay there for a long time not just year or 2 then back to nothing. No bad contracts and a growing pool of talent and youth sound a lot better than what he started with by far!!! Continue on Stevie!! Ignore the noise!!!

  6. I finally figured out Helene; she always says a bunch of random words and just hopes they just can say words back. Literally has no structure to any of her questions. Speak direct with people lol

  7. We need a goal scorer on the roster now and not prospects that won't be here for 5 years.

  8. Smart man weighing upcoming moves.when he pushes his chips all in it will be from a position of power not desperation.

  9. "Let's not overthink our list", sure seems like you didn't at all, Stevie-man… pulled names of nobodies out of a hat.

  10. Yzerman knows that a cup winning team is built off home grown talent and ELCs

  11. Helene will be the reason Steve leave Detroit and i don’t blame him.

  12. Good job on the oilers trade, just got to get Kostin to stay in the nhl, a big young guy who can drop the gloves👍

  13. If the Red Wings don't take a few major swings at the top RFAs, this "rebuild" is going to fizzle out after next season. As Seider, Raymond and Edvinsson exit the ELCs, they're going to be looking to find a new home where they can actually get to play for a shot at the cup. Then what happens? It's 3 more years sliding down from 10th worst to dead last again, and by then the entire organization needs to be rebuilt again. We've been through all of this cycle multiple times in the last 15 years. From faint heartbeat to flatline and back again. I played elite hockey for most of my youth, even NDP invite, and I've always been a fan of Yzerman, but this draft really deflated my trust/hope in the future of Red Wings hockey.

  14. I love when armchair GMs show up in these comment sections. Steve had a better situation in Tampa and it still took years. I want a team that competes for a decade not the next 2 years. Stevie and Drapes know what theyre doing and this loud minority of fans will pretend they never questioned Steve any of these years. We are spoiled myself included as fans of this team and its showing with this impatience.

  15. Man Helene St. James is embarrassing. Been doing this gig since well before Yzerman retired as a player and she still doesn't get it.

  16. Another year of wasted 2nd round picks on shitty fringe dmen. Way to leave all that talent on the board yet again Steve. This team will be in mediocrity forever

  17. SY is very disciplined in how he speaks. I think that skill is impressive, even for top guys in the highest seats. I appreciate him as a GM. If you were to watch other team's GMs speak, you might realize how lucky we are to have him. Also, you know he is a Wing, through and through.

  18. I could see Yzerman trading Ben Chariot at 50% retained for Jeff Petry and aquiring a pick as well.
