I think it will be odd seeing him wearing Sharpies number 10 for the first couple of shifts.
Does anyone think these crazy big contracts might mess with the UFA market a bit? “If Perry is getting 4M I want an extra 1M AAV” type of thing. Obviously there’s more nuance to our situation but any increase to other players contracts this FA is a dub for the hawks, put some teams deeper into cap hell.
I get the need for bringing in veteran players for the younger guys to learn from. I support it, I get it.
If that’s the case though, why aren’t we bringing back Toews on one of these contracts? (Assuming he still wants to play and is willing to play in Chicago.)
I find myself asking if I’d rather play with Corey Perry or play against Corey Perry.
I still can’t decide.
