Additionally, we only have 2 more years of the cap recapture penalty from the Kovy contract. That’s only 250k, but cap is cap. Given the expected cap increases coming up in the next couple years, getting this extra cap back as well is a huge plus for us.

The Cory Schneider buyout still bewilders me a little. One of those years was probably a LTIR assignment. And the next he could’ve been up in Binghamton. And we’d have extra cap space now. Oh well didn’t hurt too badly.

Wow. I think Fitzgerald is the smartest financial guru on the planet. He’s hiding some skills.

You couldn’t plan his moves more perfectly.

Pretty sure it will end up being used to pay Luke and Nemec’s performance bonuses.

Bettman got away with completely moving the goalposts on the Kovy deal punishment because it is the Devils. If he pulled the same bullshit in a major market it unironically might have cost him his job.

This fanbase needs to start being realistic. Out of all of the young players that have been locked up long-term with team friendly contracts, at least one of the contracts won’t age well.
