HOW DARE YOU SPEAK THIS WAY OF THE YZERPLAN!!! (I get it, a few folks are already there)

  2. Emotional_Match8169

Alex Lyon is an interesting one. Bobrovsky is still under contract and Knight has completed his Players Assistance program and will be back playing with the team in the fall (according to Zito). So where does that leave Lyon as a UFA?

I actually really like Lyon and would love to see him playing quite a bit. However, I can’t imagine the Panthers using their small cap space to sign him when they need a stronger Defense.

  3. CDROMantics

My favorite part is that you have the Oilers finishing 1st in the West but still not making the Stanley Cup Finals.

  4. skilzkid

As long as Ovi scores goals, most Caps fans understand that some rebuilding needs to be done and that is hard to do when we have some crazy contracts on the books. We are now paying the 2018 cup tax. If it seems we are hopeless once a few of the older expensive guys are off the books, then faith will be lost.

  5. MittenRaised

Nah the Yzerplan is still in strong support. Holland left a huge mess.

  6. LooksBleeker

Flyers will be bad, but not bad enough to get a top pick.

  7. LozangeFire

    Everything except playoffs at Mullett.

  8. AnnyongHermanoMD

No. NJ will not win the President’s Trophy. I will not allow that cursed trophy come to NJ!

  9. BC_guy_

Canucks fans continue to throw jerseys on the ice in protest of our god awful ownership. Chants every game of “sell the team” echo throughout the arena. But Aquilini continues to have zero vision for the franchises future and instead of selling the team, he continues to raise beer prices to ludicrous new highs.

And to round it all off, we finish in our usual 10-12 place finish after a late season push to give the fans just enough hope that we might squeak into a playoff spot, then that hope gets crushed…. As usual…

  10. lightanddeath

I… think we may have a disappointing year. I hate to even say it but I think it’ll be similar to this one.

  11. SkeazyG

All of us Red Wings fan are on the same page. Stevie Y’s got our backs. I trust him with my life.

  12. The_Lord_Stanley

A Buffalo-Toronto series for our first series since 2012 would be soooo electric

  13. WubbaLubbaDubDub184

Most of these are plausible except for the Coyotes one. I feel like they may even finish last next year, but I’m not certain there will be playoff hockey there.

  14. No_Designer_5374

Being full against the cap and with no relief in sight, and even with the best goalie in the league, my NY Rangers will not make the playoffs.

  15. Trick-Employ5552

Relax, we’re just having some pre-season fun! Yzerman’s got this, no worries!

  16. TheIncredibleHork

Every player that just got bought out will come back hard this year and make their former teams regret it.

Bailey hat trick against the Isles? Guaranteed.

Duchene 65 point season? Hell, play the over on that.

Wheeler? Destined to score the goal that knocks the Jets out of the playoffs.

  17. GravyBurgerBonanza

I’ll get hammered at a few Kraken games

  18. Tiger5804

The Wild are coming off a season where we were easily a playoff team playing with only 85% of our cap space and significant injuries, It’s gonna take a lot to shake our faith in GMBG. It’s certainly not impossible, but a bad season was well within reasonable expectations for last year and this year is even worse. We have pretty much no bad contracts left outside of the buyouts, our prospect pool is still one of the best in the league, and it’s very likely that even if we decide to be sellers, we’ll have our share of wins and be watchable in losses. If there’s any pressure, it’s for 24-25 to be the year we emerge as contenders.

  19. HanSolo5643

If Erik Karlsson is traded from San Jose before or during the season, I have a hard time seeing them win 20 games.

New Jersey with the team they have put together, I think, has a legitimate shot at the Presidents trophy and potentially going far in the playoffs.

  20. saucytopcheddar

Canucks end up in the playoff hunt and, subsequently, trade their 2024 1st rounder for a veteran contract with term… then finish 9th in the west.

  21. Pensfan66595

Several teams will have a tv deal similar to what Vegas has.

  22. VinPickles

Islanders fans will start to lose faith in the gm…

2 years ago called and said no shit. Bit late

  23. SvelterMicrobe17

As a sharks fan I’m okay with this. We’re two years away from most of our prospects playing in the first place, might as well get one/two more solid tanks in

  24. Tigernadds

Jokes on you! I’ve never had faith in Minnesota sports!

  25. glitchycat39

Oi, don’t you put that evil on the Devils.

  26. GeckoMoria93

We better win less than 20 games ,the rebuild is on lol

  27. ContentReport8866

I don’t think Detroit will ever lose faith in Stevie Y.

  28. Juice_Wigalow

Those are legit. I don’t want to say it but Ovi will miss a substantial portion of the season. Hellebuyck lands in Carolina. LA deeply regrets what they traded for PLD

  29. Lowpingmaster

Stars have a 50/50 chance of making scf

  30. arazamatazguy

I think the Panthers are one and done.

  31. CKohlman97

As a Devils fan while part of me would love to win the President’s trophy b/c it would mean that New Jersey has another successful season the other half of me doesn’t want it b/c of the highly debated curse which if I’m being honest I believe had something to do with Boston being eliminated in the first round, especially after leading their series 3 to 1.

  32. AlpineSK

I agree with most of this but I don’t see any red wings fans losing faith in Yzerman.

  33. Great. Now the Sharks will defiantly win 21 games and fall out of the top lottery odds.

    Again.

  34. MNtherealChuck

Wild fan here. Wild will lose the first round in 2 games.

    just watch.

  35. SaltHandle3065

Legit question- why are people saying Yzerman has only been GM for two years? I looked it up. He was hired April 19, 2019🤷🏼‍♂️

  36. Par_105

Buffalo. In the playoffs. Straight into my veins please

  37. jddev_

Elias Pettersson will finish the season with 125 points.

The Canucks will miss the playoffs.

  38. Hoorayforfemboys2311

As an oiler fan i do not want to see Vegas return to the final…

  39. wikipuff

GMBM is definitely losing support around here. He only saving grace is he hired a coach who knows the prospects.

  40. milehighposse

    Edmonton winning the west, hahahahahahaha…

  41. SpiceBoiGauvaJuice

the mullet arena playoff game would be amazing

  42. throwawayyourfun

Arizona will also play in the league.

  43. TechnicalTaco06V7

Then Vancouver Canucks will wildly overpay someone in free agency, bet heavily on a couple reclamation projects, flounder in mediocrity for most of the season, and go on a heater just late enough to miss the playoffs and still miss a lottery pick.
