Newhok ¨Not worthy of a first/second round pick¨ , Am I missign something? He is 22 years old, thrid in points amoung players drafted after top 10 from his year, playing 13 mins a game with limited time on the PP with ¨average¨ teamates. is that an overstatement?
In 2019 I really hoped Newhook would fall to the Habs at 15. He did. But so did Caufield. I really like Newhook, but I don't love the deal. I knew we were looking for a young winger, but assumed it would be a RW and assumed it would be a player with size. Also wouldn't have given up a 1st and a 2nd. I would've been okay with 37th and 69th going to Colorado, or maybe even 31st and 69th, but 31st and 37th is a bit pricey in my eyes. Not a huge miss, but a little bit of an overpayment.
I like it for both teams Imma Avs fan we like him here but like many have said his defense n grit isn't great for a bottom 6 spot n his offense kinda fell off but he could with more time n development be great eventually hope it works out for him n the habs n we needed picks for another big move or some prospects

And I'm sorry the only hab who put up good numbers was Cole, it's a complete myth that MSL transformed guys, they had no 30 goal scorer or ppg. Hughes has made 1 clusterfuck mistake after another since the draft.

And the Avs already made it pay off by snagging Colton from the Bolts for the 2nd round pick. Macfarland is killing it so far this offseason and still have some draft capital to sure up the lineup even more if the price is right.

Lots of hype over Newhook from others. He won’t be a top 6. Dach is the 2nd line center. And I don’t think Newhook is better than Dvorak.
Waste of 2 picks imo but who knows, maybe's he's the next Troy Terry, it took him a few seasons to break out.
