I will miss cliffy hockey so much. Throws crazy hits for his size. Great teammate, underrated skater and really starting to find his offensive game at the nhl level. Only knock I would say is every now and then he will have a random absolute stinker of a game. Think he will be a cult favorite in Buffalo enjoy!

Something is fucked with my NHL App notifications. Just found out (via this post’s comment thread) that they signed Erik Johnson and now Clifton. Missing all the excitement of getting notifications on sabres roster moves

Enjoy having him. I’ll always love watching some Cliffy hockey. Despite his smaller size, he is incredibly tough and can lay out some big hits. Fun guy who has just gotten better over the last few seasons. He’ll be missed in Boston

This is definitely not a depth move. Pencil him in next to Power and watch them work. This is a great signing imo. This team is becoming even more exciting by the minute while staying young. Great combo

Love this. I’ve been beating the Clifton drum all summer. Sabres fans are going to love this guy. He can play 2nd or 3rd pair, likes to hit and is willing to drop the mits. However, lots of guys can hit. What made me like Clifton so much is that the Boston system is one of the best defensive structures in the NHL. So Clifton has learned how to get hits without going out of his way, getting stuck out of position and messing up the structure. He’s going to be a good fit.
