You know what, i dont hate it for once.
I dont hate any of these signings, they are all low risk high potential to be good. No over paying, no over extensions and did almost all what they needed to do with what cap space they had. I call this a B
with Pearson back we have a serious glut of forwards
Overall im satisfied with what they did especially in terms of defence, guess the only thing i wish they did different was getting bjugstad(am sure i mispelled that) instead of blueger. Pretty sure bjugstad is a center not a winger ? Im not sure but yeah if im right than yeah i rather they get him instead of blueger, especially since the price range is about the same cause bjugstad signed in Arizona for just like 300k more than blueger
I think Vancouver did .. pretty good. No obvious howlers.
Canucks continue to invest too much money in their bottom six and their bottom pair.
Last years attemp to fix the penalty kill was not a total failure. Mikheyev was very effective in Toronto on the PK. The training camp injury really limitted him. With this years adds and a heqlthy Mikheyev I think its vastly improved
Here we go start the negatives
Awesome job Jim nd Patrick 👏 👌 👍…. much better van is better got some work horses 🐎
Im super happy with everyone we signed. We got more od what we needed
Man u guys just dont get it stop with the negatives they r much better … the media just loves to get on the canucks let them play 15 games nd see where they r at if this team jells i think they will b a very good team much better then what u guys think u the media r hurting the team
Look at all the championship winners they have around now
Its just never good with the media….. lol . Remember what J Tortorella said its the media nd yes it is a big part of the fell bad for the players
Y would u say spend 6 million on 1 defs crazy look how the past 6million contracts have turned out
The distance to cover is to start out better end of story . its not mid season or end of season that screwed them its the start…. start better nd they will make the playoffs give them some credit
Negativity again – enjoy the game but stop the “Ya but” endless crap
Yay we might've slightly improved the PK and defense. Hooray.
Can we just tear it down for once and rebuild properly. Chicago is closer to a cup than we are.
Rational, pragmatic moves.
Negative Nancy Jeffry Paterson
Imagine if no takers for Myers in a trade and he ends up playing the full season with the canucks, then resigning in the off season for 2-2.5m a year.
What about Raty on the third line?
Canucks showed some restraint and still managed to go over the salary cap. I completely agree about the Vancouver's addiction with overpaying depth players and expecting them to play beyond their ability.
Flat cap kept most of the GMs sober
Not sure the Bleuger signing makes a ton of sense for the money.
None of these names make up for the future buyout cap hit. Sad day. Hopefully Soucy doesn't turn into Stillman or Poolman
OEL will be playing well on a good team, just like he was good when the canucks were winning and pushing for something. He phoned it in when the shtshow happened last season. bad feeling the buyout will turn into a huge mistake
Path to the Playoffs?? Division = Vegas, Oilers, Kings, Wildcard = Canucks Flames racing.
Path to the playoffs is bad oilers goaltending, flames floundering. But the Central will be good (nash getting better) and might take both spots.
Finally impressed with the Canuck management. They made some legit moves, didn't create any bad contracts and definitely improved the D and the PK. Well done guys!
Hoping for the canucks to become instant contenders like Sekeres and Price seem to complain about is exactly the wrong way to build the organization. Canucks just did enough incremental tinkering to nudge the team forward. Add in a management and coaching staff on the same page and a willingness to hold the players accountable to playing team defense and this team will show a nice surge in the standings. Don't expect a contender until they accumulate enough nudges to create the right conditions to win.
This is a big meh for me, I agree they need to spend 6 on 1 guy instead of 3 on 2. I also agree that the 6 mil guy was not available at this time. So the last thing van should have done was take on term above 2 million. In year 3 of Soucy's contract, if he doesn't play at a top 4 level, you are getting a 3rd pairing dman for as much as OEL used to cost. This is why I just did not think the buyout for OEL was the play this year. There was not good enough replacements so you have to dig in 1 more year. Van is running out of years but they have 0 years if they just keep spending to the cap, never giving themselves breathing room to wait for the proper pieces.
Blueger is going to impress just wait
