As I wings fan this was the most bizarre, disappointing offseason I have ever seen in my life. As perplexed as I was about last offseason moves, I bit my tongue and trusted in the "Yzerplan". Well this offseason I am losing faith in that plan because it was so boneheaded Stevie is either having health issues or Kenny Holland is still in charge. This plan just makes NO SENSE!

Holl's 6'3" 200 lbs. Teams saw the success that Vegas had with large defensemen, and are looking to capture that. That's why you saw some questionable picks, with defensemen projected to be 2nd rounders going in the 1st round of the draft. The size of your D men matters, for now.
I mean it’s the worst signing so far from him today. It’s odd. We can only wait and see what happens. It’s a weak free agency. Wings have loads of cap space. Tons of prospects in the pipeline. I’m not gonna sit here and freak out over the Justin holl contract. He made some other solid signings today.
It's bad. Even if it was just the pressure of Toronto, he hasn't proven that that was the reason why he was mistake-prone. Maybe a one-year deal at 1.5 max to prove it. So, why not? Was there a bunch of teams banging at Holl's door to sign him for 3 years at 3.5?

Justin Holl was stuck in a system that couldn't balance out the go-like-hell offense of the Laffs. Did they even teach defense in TO? Would anyone even consider the Core Four as two-way players? The Wings are built differently with Bob Boughner heading the up defense side of the puck. There was probably several good things that the pro scouting staff saw that they like in Holl and who knows, it might work out. It's not even fair to crash Holl with his new team when the preseason is not even here. I trust the Yzerplan implicitly.

Holl isn't as bad as you say, hes not in his "mid thirties" ahahah 31 isnt mid 30s dude. He was lambasted as a leaf unfairly, its a 3 year contract and it really isnt a "horrible" move. Hes an average defenceman at worst. Its a stopgap and not the end of the world. EDIT: look up his advanced stats.

SY is definitely not a genius. He chose Jonathan Drouin over Seth Jones. Failed for years to add a quality goalie on a loaded TB team, until one fell in his lap. Seriously, look at his work. So glad he’s in Detoilet instead of TB.
I trust what the numbers say not what fans and people say he was graded out as the Leafs third best defender last year. Is it an absolute homerun of a contract know but if the lalonde uses him correctly he will be fine

Im ok with Holl signing, Torontonis a tough place to play. Usually when their players are told they are the problem, the leave and have greater success with another team. Toronto media is the problem.
