Babcock was right when he said back when he first signed, that players are going to "WANT" to come Toronto.
He was right.
The defence has as 1 of their best a 40 year old. Amazing quality with quiet leadership but still he's 40. That's like 1200 in dog years. Leafs have 4 other D who are light. Their G's are descent and with a strong D woild be great. With this current roster Samsonov and Wall will be near or above 3.00 GPG. The hype is in full bloom but c'mon. Enough with the yearly load of bullshit. All the fertilizer in the world will not get this team to 4 wins in the Final.

I would've rather of them pick either Bertuzzi or Domi and use some of the money to get a solid dman. Klingberg is not enough. I think Klingberg is going to create more scoring chances for these guys…he's a good puck moving defensman but you know they need to get stronger for playoff hockey. Alot more to do I think. Guys who hold the most minutes will and should dictate game play and if your top guys don't have alot of push in there game it really isn't going to change alot come playoff time.

The big difference I like between Brad and Dubass is that Brad played the game at a high level and knows what it takes to build a team fit not just for the regular season but playoffs!

Funny how the reporter mentions John (Klingberg), Tyler, and Max, but is conspicuously absent mentioning the guy that will make those guys' jobs easier: Ryan Reaves.
But only because he knows the Toronto media talked shit about signing John and Ryan on Day 1.
Oh, and while the Leafs got better offensively, they're still not on terms with Samsonov (Woll was alright, didn't win though), and their defense is arguably worse now.
In my opinion, Max is a good playmaker, but he chokes when pulling the trigger in front of the net !
He needs a scorer with him to pull the trigger !
Mathew Knies needs to be put with Tavaras to achieve his potential !

I see why Matthews and Nylander aren’t signed yet. BT is figuring out what players he can add since a good couple of our forwards have left. Now that it’s somewhat solved he can figure out the Sammy and defence situation. Mostly every leaf fan complains that when playoff time comes around our guys just get pushed around. When the opposition forces the ice to shrink and our guys can actually have a chance now with the added depth and somewhat speed (anything is better Justin Holl’s speed)
Burtuzzi is a great signing he is an awesome player great puck retriever and can make plays in tight spaces … Domi is a small bottom six forward ….. Reeves is great for regular season to help with Florida and Boston BUT will be a liability in playoffs as he is pretty one dimensional .
I feel better about our team as well.
