At 1st I didn't like the Korpisalo signing but then I looked more into it and saw his injury history and that he had a lot of injury problems before he was actually healthy last season still a risky signing but if he can stay healthy I think it can work out well especially with the Sens defense improving and being better than CBJs
Copp and Compher both making almost 11mil of the cap for the next 5 years as ideally 3rd liners this is a weird move by Stevie Y and then having Chiarot and Holl making 8mil combined per season for the next 3 seasons that's a lot of cap for 3rd liners and bottom pairing dmen ideally on a playoff team which the Wings are striving to be

As a Red wings fan, why is Yzerman a terrible GM all of a sudden after doing so well in Tampa. Makes no sense.
Blake Wheeler 100% has shown signs of aging, you’re wrong there. He is hopeless in his own zone and is a Power Play Merchant.
People are looking at signings on a superficial, numbers only, level. Advanced analytics are preventing people from seeing the intangible value of players. I'll use the Holl signing for example. Detroit has a lot of good players in the pipeline. If Yzerman isn't ready to give them the big contracts, or feels they could benefit from more time in GR, then Holl is a decent signing to mentor young players and and fill a space in a 2nd or 3rd pairing. And if the cap ceiling is going up as expected, that signing isn't as much of a hit as many people are saying. Is it the best signing? No. But there are far worse signings out there without the intangible benefits.

I don’t know, Grav… 32 year old o’reilly, who has missed 20+ games 2 of his last 3 seasons, to a retooling predators team who just paid a similarly productive player a lot of money to leave for nothing (duchene) is one of the best signings? And compher, a 28 year old coming off a career year who is very versatile and fits the red wings timeline is one of the worst? All for a difference of .5 mil and 1 year. You might be right in the end, but I don’t agree with the early analysis on these ones
