I guessed this was the plan. There is a reason for every move he makes.
😮
lmao hes so bad nobody wants him got free, yzerman L 😂😂😂
Way to bounce back and finally starting blossoming ?
Ken Holland should have been forced to claim him as a punishment for his crime.
the wings have 17 forwards. if you subtract the ahl like Luff, Czarnik and Zadina. that still leaves 2 not part of your top 12. Steve signed a bunch of FA to populate the third and fourth line so he really has no spot.
We need ship him to the ducks for futures
Would have thought St. Louis would have tried to put Zadina and Vrana together.
Shocked that he cleared. Hopefully he will do well in GR and perhaps Yzerman can get a trade done similar to Vrana netting a late round pick when he's closer to the end of his contract.
Vrana, Nedelkovic, and someone else. Another Holland pick.
I remember that draft. I had my fingers crossed for Vancouver to take Noah Dobson, then Stevie Y changed history.
Vrana was the last waiver guy who cleared and then eventually moved on. but there was more behind the scenes problems with him. this is a humbling wake-up for Zadina, hopefully.
Probably was the plan all along for Stevie. He likely knew Zadina would clear waivers, just based on his conversations with the teams he spoke too for trades. They likely gave him a sense that there would be a good chance nobody would claim him, but to honor Zadina's wish, Yzerman put him on waivers anyway. Its important to remember both looking for a trade and being on waivers was a request Zadina made. It still doesn't necessarily mean Zadina will be a Griffin come season start, he could still end up being traded in a package deal for a player Yzerman has eyes on.
This might be the worst thing for Zadina’s already poor confidence
Really he cleared bc teams realize that if he can’t stand out on a low scoring club like the red wings, he won’t make a difference for anyone else either.
You basically have 31 GMs agreeing that he’s a bust.
So now Zedina is gone who takes the space?
So if this is the case, the redwings retain RFA rights. Hopefully it is a wake up call where he realizes he needs to 100% improve bc no one wants him for free. It's a big case of the Yips I believe. Maybe a good psychologist can help him through the struggles. Also like Stevie has said, he could very well start the season on the Redwings but he has to earn it and want to be there.
I think it was Vrana, no?
it was vrana
Forget about where in the draft Zadina was selected. He has talent. Maybe he's a fourth line forward with Detroit. Playing with GR may be the best thing for him. The Wings could be showing that they care about Zadina. I want to see the guy succeed with the Wings.
He wasn't even worth a 7th round pick last week. This week he is still worthless. If his contract was a bit cheaper, maybe.
This could be a good thing for Zadina. Prove yourself and reclaim your Career.
wasted 6th overall pick on a player who is currently -51 lifetime lol
Welp the Griffens have a good chance to be solid this season, Johansson, Wallinder, Cross, Mazar, Solderblom, Kasper, Lombardi, Cossa and now Zadina
He's an AHL player. That's it.
I don’t think you or anyone outside the organization understands: not only does NO ONE want Zadina – NO ONE in Detroit even want him on GRG!!! – other than, gawd knows why – Steve Yzerman?!?! I mean, what does Arizona, Anaheim or the Ducks have to lose?
