I think they’re all 1-year, 2-way contracts. Kuhlman and Gauthier can absolutely fly but lack finishing ability.

Gauthier is good bottom 6, fast skater but misses a lot of breakaways (basically grabner)

I wouldn’t put too much stock in it being one way. Chances are he’ll be in the minors most of the year, unless he has a Fasching-like breakout at some point.

Playing hypothetical and say we get debrincat- would have to move Wally, jgp and probably clutter – I would actually give Lou more credit than I have.
This team last year was incredibly slow – but adding debrincat, keeping Engvall and adding Gauthier would be huge for team speed. I think the 4th line has run its course and with Bailey getting unceremoniously dumped this off-season it’s time to finish the rest of the hard part.

Gauthier could very well become another Fasching type of find. From what I’ve heard, Rangers fans were split on him just being filled vs. then really liking his game in the bottom six. I always thought he was real solid. If we have to move a couple roster players in a DeBrincat deal, I’ve got to think he’s got a real shot to be a regular for us.
Kuhlman’s just been shuffled between the NHL sand AHL his career, but should be like an Andreoff where if things go haywire and you gotta put him in the lineup for a couple weeks, you’re fine. Better than someone who isn’t ready.
