@Islanders de New York

why tf are we always used as leverage I want a legitimate answer

I didn’t like how willing we were to ship out JGP for Cat. I think he’s more integral to the team than people think

Could take a risk on Wally. Hope he blossoms with Horvat/Barzal and then use JGP to trade at the deadline for whatever you need if season is going well.

If Wally doesn’t work out then you limp in as a bubble team again and try again next offseason.

I read this morning that Detroit out not the Islanders, the redwings don’t have money to pay him, this rumor lacks credibility

Then what was the point of the depth signings yesterday with Oliver Wahlstrom still contractless?

  6. Careful-Sock4762

Did wally really ask to be traded at end of season or someone made it up? Heard it yesterday on here

Knowing how Lou likes to keep things hush hush there may be something going down we don’t even know about. However given our assets I doubt it’s gonna be as big a splash as everyone is hoping for.

Lou isn’t gonna do anything and the team will have the same issues. Nobody should be surprised.

I mean this was inevitable, DeBrincat is from MI and grew up a Red Wings fan. It was probably the only team he was open to signing a long term deal with. Detroit also has way better trade assets and plenty of cap space. This trade always made more sense.

Did friedman tweet that out? Strange seeing a tweet from a secondary source.

Finding a few extra bucks to resign Wahlstrom and hopefully Parise

At the risk of sounding like our panacheless one…

Threads like this are why I’m glad I don’t work in the hockey business, or any other business where the general public openly speculates on why you do or don’t do certain things. Truth is he has all the inside information as to the team, things that fans aren’t and should not be privy to. It makes speculating about what he should focus on pretty much pointless, and I would hate having everyone second-guess what I’m doing at work based on things the public doesn’t know.

Whether we trust him or not matters jack or crap, he only has to please his bosses, and obviously he does that. We get to decide if we like the team or not, and to spend our money and time on them.

I don’t think we have the assets to trade for a Keller, Ehlers, Connor or Nylander unless we give up a bunch of picks, which we should not be doing anymore

It was kinda obvious this would happen, it does every year

  15. Zegras. Would love him on the roster if he isn’t asking for insane contract.

  16. Stockersandwhich

Y’all are really going to persecute Lou for a player wanting to go home and play?

  17. Careful-Sock4762

Friedman is same guy who tweeted Wahlstrom is asking to be traded at the end of the season, so when should we expect wally to make this announcement? 🤣

  18. Careful-Sock4762

Lou never does anything in the off-season to get a top player, that is a Fact..

  19. herpishderpish

Not surprising. Lou stands pat. If the team is close at the deadline, he adds to the roster to help with a playoff push. Its a pretty established pattern at this point.
