A lot of people think this is a bad move. I’m going to withhold judgment until I see him play here in Detroit. I saw that he was playing 20 minutes a night. Now that he’s out of the Toronto spotlight, maybe he’ll play better here.
Gonna laugh when he is just as good as Lidstrom on the right team, everyone has whined about him but give the man a chance to prove himself first the maple leaf fans are ruthless
There are smart people and then there are people who have never accomplished anything at a hockey level who question Steve Yzerman. I cant imagine how smooth brain you have to be to think with what Yzerman had to work with that he has had any reasonable amount of time to rebuild this time, 4 years, during a global pandemic, despite getting us a calder winner in his first try. Nothing is good enough for some people. From "Come home Stevie" to throwing hissy fits over every move he makes and calling for his head for not being able to do the impossible, it took ten years for Detroit to win cups and then we went on to win so many the league had to manufacture the rule book because Detroit was so insanely good, it took ten years for Tampa to become such a dominant team that everyone hates them now because of it, and instead of watching his hard work come together to get his name on the cup yet again, he left all of that behind for the team he bled for, the team he gave everything the fans ever wanted, and a lot of you cant show him the faintest bit of patience. (Not talking about people not liking the signing and just being disappointed by it, we all do that, but some reactions to this signing are so ridiculous, calling for Steve to get out of town and all that)… he made a competitive team out of nothing, no first round draft picks, no massive 10×10 deals to pick up a superstar, we did get a calder winning defenseman out of his very first pick that you all p***ed and moaned about though, you didnt know what you were talking about then, you dont know what youre talking about now, sit down, shut up, let THE Captain do his thing instead of embarrassing yourselves and making the fanbase look terrible. Yzerman can tear down and rebuild this team again and again for all I care, because I know he is the only person who bleeds this team enough to do it.
Anyone playing in Toronto can be presented as average or bad. Just look how they treated Kessel while he was there. After he leaves Toronto and joins the Penguins, he wins 2 cups. 🤔
I'll take him. A Big body…we added some grit over the past few days. Kostin from Edmonton is going to also to be well liked. I am getting pumped….Carter Mazur is one kid I really hear good things about….we will have a completely different team and it will be better. I believe in Steve Yzerman and hey, any GM will make a bad move from time to time, but at least he is trying!
I have to say, Toronto media is so toxic and are ready to crucify any player given just to release their disappointment. I hope, however cannot expect Holl to be good, but I hope just lightening the load off of Holl will make him decent and a good asset. Marc Staal was the punching bag of rangers fans and then he came to the wings and honestly, wasn't that bad. was the great? no. was he the worst Dman? no. he did his job. made mistakes, cool everyone does. so im hoping Holl has the same effect. does his job more than expected. because he is coming into this team, from the fans, as the biggest problem potentially.
The twitter and instagram professional haters are crying so much about this. But fail to realize Toronto's dcore is nothing like ours. He had too much on his shoulders for his ability. I think he'll do great in a 3rd pairing role and just be a shutdown dman.
I also have a feeling Ben Chairot is going to be traded now that Ghost and Holl signed. Cause where is Edvinsson going to fit? Current dmen: Seider, Walman, Chairot, Holl, Ghost, Maata, Lindstrom (most likely just healthy scratch depth). So that's 6 dmen right there with starting caliber. I think trading Chairot would be the play to get Edvinsson on that second pair. Cause hes already better than Chairot.
Glad he got out of Toronto as now he can show us what he can do outside of that idiotic pressure cooker where they don't even build a team properly. Best of luck to him in Detroit. Still thinking he was given too much money x term though.

He looks like a Justin no doubt

Excited to have him. Needs a fresh start, go wings!
Hahahahahhaah

No pressure with this contract.. 🤦♂️
Dude, I have this feeling that Holl is going to fit the wings better than anyone from FA. I hope you love it in Detroit!
No pressure at all to perform in this market. Will be breath of fresh air for him.

Weird but interesting contract

A tale as old as time.
A former leaf finds success immediately upon getting out of that hostile environment.
Holl will be the next, book it.

Yzerman is looking for 2 way players, not one dimensional players.
Holl will end up like every leaf player who leaves to another team… an absolute stud! LGRW!
Good Luck Justin with the wings
Worst signing in the past 10 years in the entire league. Fire the Yzerclown.
From blue to red, it's time to turn over a new leaf
