go sens go
As a Sharks fan, I remember just a few short years ago when the world thought Doug Wilson hosed Pierre Dorion in the Karlsson trade.. Literally nobody thought Dorion won that and now the Sens are set for a decade at 1C and 2C.
Tough competition in the east but I say YES to playoffs!
Go Sens Go!
Sadly we are one injury away from breaking the entire top 9 apart and really messing things yp
Trading for Carter Hart would have been perfect for the Sens. Especially with Philly seemingly being open to moving him. The Korpisalo contract is a real head scratcher…
They need to move Batherson. Yes, pp specialist but his -35 defensive play is a nightmare. Such a liability. Sign Tatar or Sundqvist to replace DeBrincat.
Dont forget we lost Norris and Formenton last year. We would have had a deep top 9 with those 2 in…. Also don't forget we finally got Chychrun so we will see what he can do and where he fits in with all these LD we have (do they make RD anymore? sheesh). Then add a new goalie into the mix! If we stay healthy we have a shot.
3, 4 or 5 Atlantic teams to make it this year?! The answer to this question will probably tell the story
They are loaded on D and could easily trade for a proven winger.
Ottawa may just barely make the playoffs. Plenty of green players alongside leaders who do not have a built in winning mentality will hamper their progress this year.
Notttttttt great forward depth IMO
Ottawa had a slow start in 21/22 as well I believe I remember dorion doing an interview last summer making a point of starting better. The future looks bright though the sens have a lot of good young players
Do they want Murray back? I'll owe the Sens a favour if they do 😂😂😂
The goalie carousel of last season is probably a blessing in disguise because I can't think of a time we've ever been that deep in nets with so much potential. Giving each goalie the occasional sniff at NHL action will give them the perspective to do what it takes to be a regular.
The key for the Senators is the first couple months of the season. They've had terrible starts over the last number of years and were basically out of it before Christmas.
Losing debrincat is going to suck but the injury bug in the net was the only thing that stopped ottawa from making the playoffs last year. I think they will be better than expected.
You said 4 years for Korpisalo but it’s actually 5 which makes it much worse unfortunately
Though it looks unlikely, I'd like to see DeBrincat stay. I think Ottawa has better young talent than Detroit. The other rumor has him going to the Islanders, and that would be joining a death march. The Islanders are going nowhere for the next ten years. If he goes to Detroit, that's better than the Islanders. I also think Colkumbus would be a good fit,. but the best fit for him is where he's already at.
Dorian already said Bernard docker is going to be the 6th defensemen and it’s his job to lose. Hamonic will be 7th d man
Great video! I think Batherson deserves more credit, he played very well especially after having to deal with all the terrible things people were saying due to world jr scandal. Having everyone treat you like a monster when you are innocent must of been hard on the head….he intends to come back stronger than last year so Im looking forward to the Sens making the playoffs! Lets go Sens!!!
i foresee a crash and burn on the scale of the Hindenburg
Pretty much spot on…One note would the loss of Norris for the season 5 games in.. Forcing Stu into the number 1 center role without much experience playing center..Backed up on the second line by a rookie in Pinto..
I wish they would be playoff team but i dot think so. Unfortunately.
This team should make the playoffs, they don’t have the depth up front but they have enough talent at the top. The defence is also super talented but I don’t know how it all slots together. It all comes down to goaltending anyway so I guess we’ll see
DeBrincat wanted to play with Norris; maybe we get lucky and they click enough at the start of the year for Cat to want to stick around longer…? one can hope.
Brady might light it up @ the start
When I look at this roster, I think they have no business being far from a playoff spot.
Ottawa is close. After the alleged DeBrincat humbling (that the 5 teams he wanted to sign a long term extension with didn’t want to sign him long term), I think it’s best that Ottawa keeps him and he plays motivated for his next contract.
If that happens, and the team doesn’t lose a key centre for the fourth year in a row, they’ll squeak in.
yea. i have a feeling ottawa is gonna jump as much as jersey did just this last year and finish 1st or 2nd in atlantic. i see probably toronto, ottawa, cats and sabres no tampa or boston
I can see Sens letting go of Debrincat and slotting in Tarasenko from the free agent market. Although I wouldn't use the age excuse since the vast majority of the team has already played a couple of seasons together, playoff (and cup) experience certainly helps. I believe we can use another top 4 D and a 3rd liner or two strengthen the scoring depth.
We definately would have made the playoffs last year with half the injuries we had and Talbot sitting at home the last 10 games. It honestly looked like he was trying to sink them for an early Summer(Mission Accomplished, pack your bags Cameron).
Two things that really stuck out that hurt them other than Talbot coming back and injuries… and that's the begining of the season where they lost too many games… but also the dredded western road trip near the end. Those two stretches put the nails into the coffin, and Talbot throwing games.
I think the sens will not only make the playoffs but will have home ice in the first round at least lightning leafs and Bruins all take a step backward this year and the Panthers stay about the same Sens and Sabers are gonna push a couple teams out.
I don’t know who is better: these guys or Vancouver?
Tkachuk and Stutzle are locks to be ppg players, plus Giroux, Batherson, Norris and Debrincat (?), all could potentially be ppg players. Relying on that core is a good bet. An improved D core hopefully means less time spent hemmed in their zone, thus allowing for more offensive opportunities
The Atlantic is basically a slaughterhouse at this point. Every divisional matchup is going to be a war
