I feel conflicted. I understand why Nylander is the hot topic in trade talks, but I’m worried that we will spend 5 years trying to replace him; that type of player.

Murray buyout is their last resort. I have a feeling that he will be packaged in a trade.
I predict Murray and Brodie will be gone and we will have lots of Cap space open very soon. I don't think Nylander will play another game for the Leafs and I think the 10 million a year can be put to much better use. Nylander is very skilled but does not play for the jersey. He plays for the Paycheck. Right now the Leafs Top 4 take up way too much of the cap so the only way he stays is if they all take pay cuts. Otherwise Leafs will be dumping Salary. Leafs will Sign Sammy and buyout Murray because no one will take him. Brodie will be traded. They are currently over the Cap by 8 million. Murray and Brodie should cover that but they will have to find room for the Sammy contract and that's where Nylander comes into play.
2 problems with a Matt Murray buyout… #1, Austin Matthews and #2, William Nylander. This is the one thing that all you YT hockey "experts" forget… If you buy-out Matt Murray now, it costs the Leafs $2 Million off the Cap next year, when they're gonna need every possible penny to resign problem #1 and #2.

I like Tavares, but 11 mil was the worst move the leafs made. He's the big reason they are in a cap bind
Robertson like his brother is a scoring machine, he unfortunately had Keefe keeping him back. Brodie sucks hard like Reilly and Tavares. Force Tavares to move or trade. Reilly/ brodie are soft and 99% of the time cannot make the first pass, at best they can dump the puck . Horrible hockey i.Q. No cup with Tavares, Muzz, Reilly, Brodie. Dumba and Zadorov is the way to go and i mean we need both to win.
