What the Heck? Vegas traded Reilly Smith to Pittsburgh? Definitely a salary cap dump by the VGK, but, as we know, it's always hard to keep everyone when you win the Stanley Cup. Only so many dollars available.
I hate to see him go but, Vegas needs some cap space and needs to go a bit younger as well.
As a pens fan we'll take him. But it doesn't bring our overall age down at all. Thought the team wanted to get younger. Probably means dumoulin or zucker is gone though.
A strong reason why they need to do away with the cap! It's not my team, but every team goes through this and imo it's wrong!
There has also been talk of them bringing pacioretty back!
Starting to wonder if they’ll eventually just remove the interim tag and let Kyle be president and GM.

Clearly, this team needs to rebuild! They have like 12 guys on the wrong side of 30 on the roster!

I’ve never heard the term “misfits” in this way until today so I googled it. They are called misfits because they were castoffs from other teams. Well, isn’t that how all expansion teams are created? It’s not specific to Vegas.

i'm wondering if trading some one other than smith was a better option…..perhaps lehner or martinez or some of their bottom 6 players, kessel, carrier, roy
Smith was traded to free cap space for Barbashev who Vegas signed today for 5.5 million per year. Barbashev, Marchessault and Eichel were an essential first line for the VGK.
