  1. Radko Gudas, who took liberties with the Leafs in the playoffs, & who was involved in the elimination game overtime goal, probably wouldn't have been playing in that game, with Reaves in the lineup.

  2. Gonna be another hilarious year end pod when CJ is back with the SDPN boys after another first round exit.

  3. 8,75-9,25 is fair for Nylander, however Marner isnt worth more than 10. The sharks "problem" and why they want a lot back is that for them cap space isnt valuable., they already have plenty

  4. I love listening to CJ but I just can't stomach Julian McKenzie. This moron has zero business reporting sports. Like what kind of a question is "How many ballparks do you plan on visiting this summer?"……….IDIOT!!

  5. And yet Treliving missed Mr McLeod on the Devils, when his team made him a UFA just to go "cheepski" on the guy. 60% faceoff success rate.

  6. All of a sudden the core seems irrelevant. For 10 million dollars look what we got Bertuzzi, Klingburg and Domi. Nylander camp wants 10 million or over. With these deals bye bye Nylander. He wants over 10 million. Next Marner. Goodbye. Dubas has been screwing the Maple Leafs from day one. He overpaid , not only screwing the Leafs but all NHL teams. It is a good thing that most teams got their players to take home town discounts. Dubas a great statistician. Unfortunately Statistics don't lie, statistician do. Dubas you manipulator. I am a firm believer. That whats in the dark will come to the light. Who would have thought that the Maple Leafs, would get these great opportunities.

  7. Pettersson in Vancouver is gonna' earn 10.25 the following year min based on this upcoming year.

  8. Nylander will not be a Leaf at the start of the season. We all knew this was gonna happen, we need to trade him for a goalie or goalie prospect

  9. Mr Johnston, Could part of Duchene's 3 mil have went towards paying for Dellandrea, Dallas' first round pick ??? what would that be in compensation?

  10. I'm actually glad that ROR passed, you could see it in his game that's he's far over the hill.

  11. gm's real challenge is florida exposed the leafs fluff four can't counter physical play . they don't score!

  12. Wondering about Yamamoto (Spokane Native and ex-WHL Spokane Chief) coming home to Washington to play for the Kraken. First Washingtonian to play for the Kraken!

  13. It's great moves but now the salary cap we are 8 mill over getting rid of Murry will take a big chunk out of it but the samsonov needs a contract soo….. the moves are far from done

  14. Outside observer's take on the Leafs: You don't actually need 4 offensive all-stars to win a Stanley Cup.
    (1) Even with 146 goals from the Core 4, the Leafs were 11th in the league in scoring (and dried up in the 2nd round). (2) Keeping all four is not only eating too much cap space to get what champions usually do have (goaltending, defense, depth), but is also (3) creating a self-perpetuating loop of arguments like 'how do we replace Nylander's 40 goals?' that prevent management from taking the necessary steps to move in a different and more 'whole team' direction.

  15. out of all the mentally weak people afraid to play in toronto i never thought o'reilly would be one.

  16. Yes. Treliving is getting the Leafs ready to put on their playoff big boy pants. About time! Good start.

  17. Who’s centering Boston’s top two lines? On paper right now they’ll be battling buffalo and Ottawa for 4th in the division.

  18. Is Domi better than Bunting? Domi has played on more teams that Dominic Moore. Klingberg is Tyson Barrie 2.0. Reeves or Acciari, not even close. Bertuzzi is a good signing and will walk to Carolina, New York by using the Leafs to cash in. Chris get a real opinion.

  19. Once again the audio on this podcast is super quiet. What's the deal?

  20. Dahlin and Pettersson are going to get 10ish mill, is Nylander in that caliber of player? I dont think so

  21. Both Nylander and Matthews need to hit UFA so they get that sticker shock of how much the rest of the league think they are worth.

I doubt any other team would offer Matthews $10M, let alone Nylander.

  22. Nylander is really asking to be traded. No team at this point is going to carry 4 ppl over 10 million. He wants big money he doesn't care where he goes to get it apparently.

  23. Tre is making some nice moves. The team is already better than last year. We just need to trade Nylander and we'll get even better.

  24. Robertson should be up and running this year right? He's supposed to be at least a 30 goal scorer right? Not bad for a million. Nylander who?

  25. If we get Karlsonn look out. We get him we're pretty much on the way to lifting the cup. Bye Nylander and your ambitious 10 million dollar ways

  26. I like the forwards they added, dont know if its that much better than Bunting, O'Reilly and Acciari though. The defense still needs to be addressed also

  27. The issue with Nylander is pretty much his consistency.
Games 1 and 2 vs Tampa, he's got 2 goals, games 4 and 5 vs Florida he's got two goals.
The 7 games in between, he had what, 4-5 assists? It's not a consistency that really holds up. Especially when you throw Morgan Reilly's performance in there.
The issue with 'overpaying' for Gavrikov, in example, is LA HAS CAP SPACE.
Teams with space that want who they want can 'overspend'. Tampa worked for half a decade and built a legacy because guys were willing to work with the team.
Nylander is basically saying "I'm worth this and you need to pay it." And he's held out before. So while he's had a decent playoff history, he's also pretty unreliable, streaky, and overinflated statistically, particularly on offense.
    Is that unfair? Probably.
But the fact of the matter is, Marner was the only top 4 Leaf to actually show up offensively in that 0-3 hole vs the Panthers 🤷

  28. On the Jays, I'd actually bet money they don't even make the playoffs.
They're the 3rd best TEAM in their division (4th in points), 6th in the AL, and probably 12th in the league.
But they'll miss because there's just more depth in the AL.
The NL is really a 3 team race, while I could argue for 5 teams in the AL.

  29. how is the nylander situation trending to finish before auston when nylander wants 10+, (no one of his mold has that league wise), and it isnt going well, but will finish before auston?
