  1. You rock man! Keep up the good content!! Can't wait to see the Alex D to red wings viedo when it becomes official

  2. C'mon Lego you are better than this. Laffy will hopefully finally get real top 6 and special teams play. With his limited minutes it is really kind of hard to say he is a bust or this is slow.

Every other 1st round pick went right into the top 6 and got real playing minutes with no pressure to perform because they were the only option.

  3. Wouldn't it be something if Zadina turns out to have a better career than Lafreniere! You never know! Time is running out for the Debrincat trade, too. Time is always running on something. 😀

  4. I'd say Laf has another year to show any kind of growth whatsoever. He hasn't improved his game at all in any noticeable way other than defensively. He hasn't been used effectively for sure, but at some point you need to be so much better than Jimmy Vesey and Barclay Goodrow that they don't knock you out of the top 6. Even on your off wing. He's been an effective 3rd line winger, but you gotta at some point show some flashes of being better than that. And Laf really hasn't. Having one or two good games late in the regular season each year isn't enough.

After getting a bridge this year, unless he has a career year, I don't see him remaining on this team through next offseason. I felt similarly about Kakko last year, but Kakko REALLY deserved to be in the top 6 and he will likely be there this year. Kakko looks like he belongs on the first line and will probably get 60 points or more this year if he remains there.

EDIT: Laf got outproduced by K'Andre Miller this year. Come on, man. That's a defenseman with no powerplay time. Kakko got outproduced too but at least he LOOKS good.

  5. The moral of the story is don't draft Quebec players with the names Alexander…Daigle, and Lafernier

  6. Laviolette, as a new coach in the NYR organisation, said all the good things. Gallant didn't put the young players as Kakko and Lafrenière in good conditions to be productive. The Kane and Tarasenko trades were just horrible for their development while the young guns produced big goals in the previous series. If NYR wasn't in Broadway style of managing, never they would have make those trades.

  7. I predict Dorion puts a 5M qualifying offer for Lafreniere after the Rangers re-sign K'Andre Miller. If the Rangers don't match, Ottawa gives up a first and third to get Lafreniere. If the Rangers match, they can't re-sign Tarasenko, and you put Lafreniere with Stutzle and Giroux. He will thrive with that line.

  8. Getting sick and tired of reading stupid stories like this.

Lafreniere’s career has been held Earthbound by joining a vet-laden team poised to be a contender.

But the stats he’s put up (basically playing 3rd Line minutes, tops) along w/ his physical play (his Hits total would’ve led my team) have been solid, esp. his shooting %.

Put this guy on a miserable team to start with, my guess is no-one’s talking bust bullcrap. He’d get more playing time, and probably never become the player he’ll become in due time.

Who exactly thought he was the next McDavid etc.? No one thought that; just that he was the most talented FWD in his draft, all-around.

Stutzle has bigger offensive numbers; he’s also minus-48 in his career. Flip the two, the numbers probably are similar in altogether different situations.

  9. Setiousky giving up on these two will poor fir New york these two deserve more time to play they are buried with 3rd to 4th line minutes. Calling them busts when in teams like say Anaheim Arizona ir chicago they would get top mins and freedom to play and be the difference maker. But no they firced to play like grinders in the 3rd line

  10. By all means, draft a player #1 overall at 18, put him on the Rangers third line and expect 30-40 goals his second year. If doesn’t, he’s a bust. Way to go. Only in NY.

  11. The problem with Lafreniere is his effort, of lack thereof. The boy loses every puck battle he finds himself in the vicinity of. Lack of production, and mistakes, can be forgiven of a young player. Lack of effort however, is inexcusable.

  12. Him and Kakko Krappo both played 15 minutes per game, you could play them both 20 minutes a game and neither would do much.
