Clearly Management doesnt think that the young kids are ready yet. Thats OK, they are young and need some AHL time to mature. It looks to me that Yzerman has nicely picked up pieces to get us through one or two more years. The key is those young guns have to develope.
ur review of the red wings is more insightful then detroit's main stream media review and knowledge of hockey. they keep pushing for yzerman to trade and get debrincat, but its obvious they are not quite ready for the playoffs yet. they also seem to have forgotten how bare the minor leagues and prospect pool holland left the wings before yzerman took over. he will build thru the draft and team advantageous trades, not pushing. i think tampa bay pushed to win now, and it will shorten their contending window (which may already be closed now). he told the fans here in detroit it would be a while before we were back in contention, but if done right we would get back to the playoffs and possible stanley cups again.

The wings were in the playoffs picture till the 2 back to back games with Ottawa ,,, they got spanked , I think your youngsters aren’t developing normally they’re taking a lot more time , so Stevie is trying to get closer with veterans ,,,
Filip Zadina was not bought out, he and the team voluntarily terminated his contract. Kind of sucks to see him go, but the team is not carrying any dead cap due to that contract.
So you guys just said, "This is not a playoff lineup." That will be 6 years without playoffs. I could do what yzerman is doing if you give me 7 or 8 years. Doesn't take a genius to draft in the top 10 for 7 years and build a team.
I couldn’t agree more… Steve’s not interested in making the playoffs. He’s trying to build a long term contender, like Tampa.
And he hasn’t been handed a Stamkos, so it’s going to take longer than some would like.
With these pickups if James Reimer can win at least 15 games and Raymond to bounce back with 20+ goals and a healthy fabbri, a healthy Rasmussen detroit could make a wildcard and shock some people they probably will get at least 96 points this year
