The Canucks have been awful this year, and unfortunately for everyone involved, Stillman really seemed to struggle on the blue line. Maybe it's because there didn't appear to be any structure to overall team defense (which cost Bruce Boudreau his job), but whatever… it was best for Stillman to move on. I wish him well in Buffalo, and I'm looking forward to seeing this Josh Bloom kid.
I honestly do not like this trade BUT ( please prove me wrong Stillman) GMKA and the team he has around him always look at every angle. I'm sure he was asked if he wanted to be in Buffalo at the get go. To add on Jeffrey Jenks comment, you can really bless the ownership at the core of this. The Pegulas fired Botterill and the scouting team he had and renewed us to todays crew. That was a blessing in disguise that many overlook. Your scouts are your hidden heroes.

I wish we went after schenn but i do like that adams made a low risk move. I like that stillman has another year on his contract. If he works out we this could be a good move for us. We got physical play with this trade which is what we are all begging for. Hopefully Bloom doesn't come back to haunt us in the future
Move Bryson to the 4th line forward position. He is fleet of foot. Has a different level of speed. I'm sure he get at least 20 points in that position. And his plus minus will get better as well

Statistically Stillman is one of the worst D Men in the league…. BUT…. he is a physical stay at home defenseman, who will FIGHT and HIT…. and I think that's why they made this move. Don't expect big minutes or many at all from this guy. Its a depth signing to give this team some sand paper. They need another physical guy if they do end up squeaking in the playoffs.

My Canuck suffering lady saw this trade and rolled her eyes. "Vancouver can't even tank right!" 😋He's been brutal this season but he could easily turn it around. It's a win win for both teams potentially. He's going to add the grit that defence has so sorely missed. At the very least it's an acknowledgement by Adam's that the status quo will not fly long term. Let's wait and see. 😋

Scratching my head on this trade? Nothing against Stillman but from where I sit the Sabres got fleeced here. Stillman's talent does not appear to come close to Broom and he is much older? Broom was a damn good prospect. That said, I certainly hope I am proven wrong here. Now I hear that the Rangers picked up Patrick Kane for only a 2nd & a 4th draft pick. Surely we could have matched that and added Bloom. You would think Kane would have loved to play for his home town and clearly it would not have cost that much. The salary cap is no issue for the Sabres. ………………….As I said, scratching my head!
