I like it but a kreider trochek and vesey line played well last year in the short time they were together and would like to see how that’d go as a speed/shutdown line whatever you wanna call it.
Does Lav have a tendency to rotate lines? Last year it was pretty pointless to examine line combos because Gallant would change lines every game, if not every period.
I like that first line, but Lafreniere shouldn’t be relegated to the third line again to be honest. He should either be on the first line along with Kakko or on the second line if we really are serious about giving them a chance to succeed as players in the top 6.
If they’re not going to put Laf on the 2nd line at RW, then Vesey should play the 2RW spot. If we’re not going to give Laf a chance, then Vesey gives us the best chance at winning because he makes Panarin a better player.

I’d love to see something like this at the start of the season. Gives all the kids top 6 minutes while having a really strong 3rd line too:

Kreider – Trocheck – Vesey
Goodrow – Bonino – Pitlick

I don’t really care who is on what line and which label you want to give it as long as the obvious 4th line guys are on the 4th line. Just give the top 3 lines equal time. It will keep everyone fresh and over time the lines that might deserve a little more time will earn it.
Pick the lines based on training camp chemistry. If it takes a couple of months into the season to figure that out, then so be it. I would like us to have the lines sorted out by mid-season and then leave them alone to gel. Tired of coaches that do constant line blending. If you feel you need to mix it up in game, sure. But I’d like consistent lines heading into the playoffs. Hopefully we have the same injury luck we’ve had lately so that will be possible.
