@Flames de Calgary

    Yarrr.

That’s all I can suck. Fuck Sportsnet, full TSN, fuck Bell and fuck Rogers.

Hmmm, apparently I can say more than yarrr after all.

  2. Hate this, was going to buy for the first time this season. Was tired of streaming online then having shitty quality and be like 5 mins behind.

I can’t wait for cable to die and leagues take full control over their broadcast.

    What a joke.
Not to mention the streams for hockey seem to be terrible quality. Some sportnets app stream 720p, and the ones that do go 1080p, the bitrate is terrible.

Id be more then happy to pay the Sportsnet increase of there was an increase in quality. 4k would be amazing, but I’d be happy with good quality 1080p

I’m so sick of streams constantly dropping on nhl66, I’m gonna try out SportsNet premium for 20 bucks a month. All NHL games. It’s not great, but it’s will be like 1.50 a game.

The real outrage is DAZN going to $30 a month. Fucking oof

Guess I’m breaking out my ship and hat and sailing the high seas again.

Rogers is trying to recoup $600 million – this is one of many shitty things that they’re gonna be doing.

Would a jail broken Firestick 4K Max solve this problem? Assuming you’re watching on a TV (stick plugged in to HDMI) then just find the local broadcast on Sports Fire

  9. This is because Rogers is hemorrhaging money from cable and (at least sports) radio.

They’ve come to a conclusion that they can up the rates of their streaming service and profit more money even if they lose subscribers, which is the exact same problem that contributed to the fall of cable.

I hate it, but this is textbook for these corps work, and it isn’t going to change if the CRTC holds their course and doesn’t actually try to encourage competition in the Canadian market.

    Try Sportsurge

Thank me in October. Also use chrome and download Ublock Origin as an ad blocker.

Just for reference as to how much hockey fucks us over, a full F1TV subscription gets you all races live, live driver cams, exclusive content, and so much more that you’ll never even get to it just because of how much there is and it’s like $80US for the year

Everything’s legal if you don’t get caught.

Legit question? Is this something that can be filed with the Better Business Bureau? Since they control a lot of the legal sports viewing options.

And 6 months ago they moved to a Standard/Premium pricing model, then shortly after that they cut some live content like Tim and Friends, then they increase the Standard pricing. Combined with the poor quality/app crashes/lack of support, it feels like operating in bad faith… but what do I know lol.

Tried cable for the first few months after moving out. Paid 80 bucks a month just to watch Flames games and pretty much nothing else.

    Cancelled and have saved 80 x 12 x 8 = 7680 dollars.

    Cable is overpriced.

Be a fine day for sailing the seas. Yarr!

Fuck rogers, I’m something of a sailor myself.

Assuming the league doesn’t switch up streaming and kill a bunch more sites I’ve got a few good options I could share privately

The Sportsnet app and stream quality is so shitty that I have seen pirating sites which are designed better. If they want to keep their customers they better lower the price or increase the quality.

Paid for SN NOW last season as the high seas were a bit of a mess last year. I lasted half the season before canceling and getting my money back. Constant dropped streams, errors when loading streams. If I’m going to spend time fighting with streams I’d rather not pay for that privilege.

You can also get an OTA Antenna and at least get Saturday HNIC games andnth boss game on CityTv

  19. dbhabie

It’s not worth it, especially when the team you’re watching has consistent heartbreaking losses… Just stream it from somewhere, cast it to your tv and save the money.

  20. Slapppz

Anybody feel free to DM any yarrrr activities

  21. xk6rdt

    Canceled everything already.

All this streaming services and you pay more then with cable lol.

  22. kobedziuba

Yarrr that sounds awful, remember yer always welcome on the sea

  23. Keeko_ca

You don’t want to pay $180/year for expert pregame/intermission analysis that goes to the tune of, “McDavid, McDavid, McDavid, McDavid, McDavid, that should be called each and every time for a star player in this league, McDavid”
